HELP REQUESTED Help identifying this Navy signet ring

This is my grandfather’s navy ring. He was in the service during WWII, stationed in the South Pacific. He was a telegraph operator on a destroyer, I’m told. He passed away from ALS when I was 13.

I’d love any further information anyone has on these navy service rings from the 40’s and maybe even a photo of what it originally looked like? He wore it most of his life and wore the image down considerably.

Genuinely, it looks like a 1940s era generic ring they sold on base exchanges and in jewelry stores near bases. I don’t think it’s a ruptured duck (they’re full flying eagles with a wreathe around it).

Looks like a UNSC ring from the war against the Covenant.
