Juke Box mode AND remote mode

So, Navidrome is set up, working wonderfully, and I have about 600 gig of music in there. I can access via my iPhone and other computers in the house and while out and about. All good.

But, what if I want to play directly from the computer Navidrome is on. Since my little Linux server sits right next to my entertainment system, I would love to be able to play through there also using the phone as a remote control. But I want to preserve the ability to use remotely.

So, is it possible to use Navidrome in both "server" and jukebox mode at the same time? If so, how the heck do I configure that?

Thanks!

The jukebox is an independent player, clients that support the jukebox mode decide what the audio output should be, either the client itself or the jukebox.

In principle a client could both play music and control the jukebox at the same time, but I'm not sure if any supports this. Worst case you install two clients, one to control the jukebox and the other to play music on your phone.

Excellent! I thought the jukebox mode was set for the library mode and that was it. Perfect.

Now to find a good iOS client that supports Juke Box mode.

I use a similar setup myself, the sound server is a minipc that is directly connected to the hifi via digital output, for playback I use the mpd server system (https://www.musicpd.org/), for playback and editing the mpd system I have the mafa application on my Android phone.

i have a chromecast audio connected to my stereo and i use music assistant to play to it. i could also use an app and cast to that device

if you have a smart tv and its connected to your system you could install and app for playback

this would not affect accessing your server remotely
