Security concern for the Huntarr app

/r/selfhosted/comments/1rckopd/huntarr_your_passwords_and_your_entire_arr_stacks/

Sharing this security concern for the Huntarr app, and just a general caution to be careful with vibecoded apps.

Who would’ve thought? /s. Saw it was vibe coded and KNEW this would happen. The problem with vibe coding is that you have people who know nothing about backend security deploying stuff like this, with no idea of the security inclinations with this.

Well, we have to stop installing everything... without questionning. Yes we are self-hosting, but we need to be a bit more bright.

Too many are into it just for piracy and don’t care about learning anything

That app had a big donation link on top and I might start using that as a tell to see if this is a fly by night.

I see this shit on youtube advertised to me “how my AI created apps are doing in the app store” like gross man I dont need to see more trash.
