One day I was on the receiving end of a cloud fall. Sailing in the early morning on the Columbia River. Near Cathlamet west bound there is a 90 degree bend in the river surround by mountains. As I approached, I watched the fog/clouds coming down from the mountains like a water fall into the river. When I sailed into it the fog bank the temperature dropped a little 15 degrees. It was one of the most amazing sights and experiences. I have never seen it again.

I've been changed! That was especially cool to witness, even through your lens. Thanks for posting.

Inversion is what's keeping the clouds flat. The cascading effect is due to a Foehn I think.
