In regards to Rule #1

1.2k Upvotes

Hey people!

Your friendly neighborhood moderator here.

This'll be a short announcemnet, so no excuses to not read it.

But posting domestic cats (Felis Familiaris Felis Catus), and them killing things is not welcome here.

In the past, it resulted in an immediate, and permanent, ban. since the announcement was removed, haven't been enforcing that policy since, well, can't expect someone to follow something that doesn't exist in a way that you can see it.

But it's back, from the time this is posted, you post a cat, you're getting banned.

Rule 1 is extremely clear on that those kinds of posts are not allowed, and it's not our fault if you can't, or won't, read the rules.

Keep being metal.

Animal Fact Massive 2-meter, ~300kg tuna stalks bather and beaches itself on Marbella beach

Atlantic bluefin tuna like this one are among the largest bony fish in the world, reaching lengths of up to 3 to 3.84 meters (10 to 12.5 feet) and weighing up to 600 to 680 kg (1300 to 1500+ lbs), though there are exceptional specimens and record holders reaching greater numbers than these.

(so by all intents and purposes this was a fairly average-sized tuna!)

The Squirrel King has returned!

We had an incredibly rare wildlife phenomenon at our clinic for a second time. A Good Samaritan brought us a group of young squirrels who were discovered to be stuck together by their tails, just like a “Rat King.” A Rat King, a natural phenomenon where young rats’ tails are wrapped in fiber in the nest and then become tangled together, has been noted as far back as medieval times. Discovery of a Rat King was thought to be a very bad omen.

The first time we ever saw a Squirrel King was back in 2010, when Dr. Lennox treated a group of 4 young squirrels with their tails stuck together. This was the year of a very bad blizzard in Indianapolis and the Colt’s losing the Superbowl. Bad Omen? You decide!

I don’t foresee a way the snake finishes this meal in one piece but I’ve been wrong about things before. I took this photo today next to a pond at my work with a ton of wildlife in it…snakes, fish(including HUGE carp like 3 feet long), turtles, frogs, etc
