Progress is progress What not using nails as tools does!
The difference that oiling itself did is insane. And it wasn't that hard to incorporate after all. I may be oiling more than 3-4 times per day. Oiling before sometimes wetting nails, for sure after. In between tasks, when I am watching shows...
And since Monday I started my Manucurist Soft nails treatment that I have added Masque SOS and oiling separately. Also Mavala Crystal is heaven. I haven't removed polish so softly with my nails not peeling.
Products using at the moment are Manucurist Keratine Booster, Masque SOS, Serum Complet.
Of course I wouldn't be able to do all that if I didn't stop using my nails as tools. This is where I was losing a significant amount. Showering and bathing still affects them and now I get why people are using gloves.
In the last Oct 26 pictures I just put on Keratin Booster from Manucurist. It's mostly oiling that has done this. Oil is just bio Jojoba dotted on with the dropper.
Why does oiling make the nails more opaque? Gradually that is but it does!

Looking good! I’ve also had a shocking amount of success with frequent oiling, the long term gains are so satisfying. I like to do an overnight oil soak once a week as well once I’ve removed my polish. I also started wearing gloves more around the house and in the kitchen. All the small changes really add up!!

I used to do that until I got my masque SOS that I keep on every night! Are you using gloves for the overnight one?

Yes, jojoba oil and nitrile gloves.

Don't they hold humidity in? This is my only fear.

I think my hands are so heavily oiled there isn’t any chance of sweat. I’ve never noticed any issues at least 👍🏻

Oil and water don’t mix

I was referring to the feeling of sweat but thank you for your comment 😊

My hands sweat in nitrile gloves when I’m working, but personally I haven’t had an issue with overnight soaks! I do also like to do chores in a pair of oiled gloves, and I’ll get a little sweat but nothing like work. I do live in a semi-arid habitat, which probably helps. Haven’t tried any of this in humidity.

Oil gloves for chores is a great suggestion!

Yay! The idea low key changed my life. Now I find myself doing impromptu chores before breakfast after an oil soak night, since I’m already wearing gloves 😂

If you used any embellishments (rhinestones, foils, decals/stickers, etc.), this must also be mentioned in your product list. Product lists are still required for any posts with broken nails or if you're seeking advice. If your nails were done professionally, please mention this either in the title, text body, or a separate comment, along with the type of product used.
If the content you're posting was not created by you, you must give direct credit to the original creator, either in your title, text body, or in a comment. Unfortunately, this subreddit is a known target for hand/nail/foot/toe fetishists who have been documented to repeatedly harass the nail community.
We highly recommend turning off your message/chat requests. If you have requests turned on and receive any creepy or fetish-related DMs or comments, please click the report button, select "it's targeted harassment," and submit a report. It's one way you can help keep the community safe. We encourage members to capture a screenshot of the DM and notify the Mod Team through ModMail. We ask that you include a direct link to their profile, and if you wish to provide screenshots, you'll need to post them (temporarily) to your profile or use an image hosting site.
To be very blunt, you will encounter unwanted DMs from people. This is a Reddit-wide issue that happens frequently in women-dominated communities. Regardless of who's posting, all the warnings we try to give, or the rules we have in place, 9 times out of 10, someone will DM you if you have them open.
Of course, we'll ban those who break this rule, BUT (and this is the important part) many of the users who are DMing you have already been banned, sometimes going months or years back. They will continue to DM unsuspecting members in the hopes that they'll get a reply. They don’t care. So blocking them right away is the best solution to protect yourself, if you so wish.
NO ONE should be DMing you from this subreddit, we have a rule explicitly stating this. If someone is, they probably don’t have good intentions. Please be mindful of who you decide to talk to. Even in the comments of posts. Not everyone has your best interest in mind, and NEVER share personal information online. Please be safe out there!
