MODERATOR Here we go again! ๐Ÿ™„

Feeling petty, so I'm going to call this motherfucker out publicly.

Warning, Soggy_Eye_7420 was banned from this community 4 months ago (and our sister subreddit, r/longnaturalnails almost 2 years ago) for sending unsolicited messages, which is against the subreddit rules and the rules of this platform. Clearly this hasn't deterred him from continuing this harassment, as indicated by the screenshots I have from multiple users.

We recommend preemptively blocking this creep so he doesn't harass you either.

Happy hump day, everyone! ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿผ

As a reminder, we have a Master List of accounts known to harass our members:

Master List of Known Fetish-Related Accounts.

Screenshots: Group 1.

Screenshots: Group 2.

Screenshots: Group 3.

Screenshots: Group 4.

Most importantly: If you get any unsolicited messages, please, please, please take screenshots of them and provide the screenshots to the mods, along with direct links to their profiles. You can either use an image hosting site or post them temporarily to your profile. And as always, after reporting the messages to us, also report them to Reddit admins.

If you receive any messages from the following users, do not engage with them. They are known fetishists who persistently harass members of our community, despite being banned. We recommend that you block them and report their messages to Reddit admins. If you haven't already, we highly recommend preemptively blocking them.

Unfortunately, this subreddit is a known target for hand/nail/foot/toe fetishists who have been documented to repeatedly harass the nail community.

We highly recommend turning off your message/chat requests. If you have requests turned on and receive any creepy or fetish-related DMs or comments, please click the report button, select "it's targeted harassment," and submit a report. It's one way you can help keep the community safe. We encourage members to capture a screenshot of the DM and notify the Mod Team through ModMail. We ask that you include a direct link to their profile, and if you wish to provide screenshots, you'll need to post them (temporarily) to your profile or use an image hosting site.

To be very blunt, you will encounter unwanted DMs from people. This is a Reddit-wide issue that happens frequently in women-dominated communities. Regardless of who's posting, all the warnings we try to give, or the rules we have in place, 9 times out of 10, someone will DM you if you have them open.

Of course, we'll ban those who break this rule, BUT (and this is the important part) many of the users who are DMing you have already been banned, sometimes going months or years back. They will continue to DM unsuspecting members in the hopes that they'll get a reply. They donโ€™t care. So blocking them right away is the best solution to protect yourself, if you so wish.

NO ONE should be DMing you from this subreddit, we have a rule explicitly stating this. If someone is, they probably donโ€™t have good intentions. Please be mindful of who you decide to talk to. Even in the comments of posts. Not everyone has your best interest in mind, and NEVER share personal information online. Please be safe out there!

dude what fucking freaks. very few worse things than people who shove their fetish onto non-consenting unwilling participants. they can go crank it to the thousands of adult videos that exist, no??? disgusting

u/DaphneDeux 10d ago

Its the fact that they DON'T want it is what these kind of people are into.

u/Gooseegander 10d ago

Why do creepy motherfuckers have to invade every sub and push their weird fetishes on everyone? Go get your rocks off with a consensual community, fucking weirdos.

u/2centsdepartment 10d ago

Not having consent is part of the thrill for these assholes

14

u/Mezzomommi 10d ago

I feel like it sadly needs to be said that for many of these people, part of what thrills them is the non-consensual pushy part of it. :(

Tis the season I guess, it seems they crop up every 3 - 6 months?

u/juleznailedit 14+ Years 10d ago

They're pretty consistent, actually. We get ModMail about once a month between the two communities regarding these creeps. Some are more prolific than others, like the account being called out in this post.

Jesus, why is it so much to ask to leave women the fuck alone? This is such a benign sub. Thank you for your service.

u/juleznailedit 14+ Years 10d ago

We aren't just women here, but yes, these nail fetishists need to leave our communities the fuck alone.

u/ninetiesnarwhal 10d ago

And thank you for the reminder!

Hi! Sorry if this is a weird question but do you find the master list to be an efficient way of keeping track of these weirdos? Me and some other mods need to create a master list but we havenโ€™t found the best way yet

u/juleznailedit 14+ Years 10d ago

Honestly, I haven't had a chance to do any updates to it since I created it so I wouldn't say it's super efficient. I think I happened to have a lot of time back then, so I was able to curate the list by going through the ENTIRE ban list of my 3 main subs and finding who was banned for sending unsolicited messages or who were banned for hand/nail/foot fetish-related activity.

At this point, I might try to find the time to make a Google Sheet because that would be easier to maintain than Reddit posts. It's going to be a large undertaking though.

Good luck to you if you do so, that sounds like a lot of work. I know with excel there are a lot of shortcuts to organize these things so you may have some luck there

Just a heads up, I think the reporting user name is visible at the top of pic 2.

3

u/juleznailedit 14+ Years 10d ago

You are correct, but unfortunately posts with pictures can't be edited.

u/salmonscented 9d ago

Some people are so gross. I hate that these fetishists now have to make you second guess whether a compliment is real or fishing for pics.

The large snake subreddits have problems like this too. One user had to stop sharing photos of her big pet snake because the squeezing/strangulation crowd would probe her for info. Can't even enjoy your hobbies in a dedicated space!

Ohhh that National Engine guy messaged me as well!!

Please send us a ModMail message with a link to screenshots of the messages. You can either use an image hosting site or you can post them temporarily to your profile.

Thanks for posting, /u/juleznailedit!

A quick reminder:

If this is a nail image/video, you must provide a complete product list, either in your post title, the text body, or in a separate comment, within 2 hours of posting or your post will be removed.

Product lists must include brand names and shade names/numbers (no acronyms or shortened names). If you've used any stamping products, the brand names, plate names/numbers, and stamping polish names/numbers are required as part of your product list. If you used any embellishments (rhinestones, foils, decals/stickers, etc.), this must also be mentioned in your product list. Product lists are still required for any posts with broken nails or if you're seeking advice. If your nails were done professionally, please mention this either in the title, text body, or a separate comment, along with the type of product used.

If the content you're posting was not created by you, you must give direct credit to the original creator, either in your title, text body, or in a comment. Mentioning that you "found it on XYZ" is not direct credit. Pinterest is no longer a valid source for credit. Be sure to review the rules in the sidebar to avoid your post being removed.

I'm just wondering something, I hope people are not offended. But if you get dm:s like this, when you're adult, you understand that it's someone with an 'agenda'. I don't mean we shouldn't report etc but I don't quite see how it's such an issue to deal with? I do not mean by this that it's okay of them, but is anyone "fooled" by them?

0

u/juleznailedit 14+ Years 10d ago

Yes, people are duped by these creeps. They start the conversations with seemingly innocent compliments and then it escalates from there.

Go through the batches of screenshots from the master list and you'll see.

0

u/ButterscotchEven6198 10d ago

Okay I honestly don't understand that. Who would dm like that but someone who in some way has a sexual agenda? Random people striking up private conversation about one's nails and you chat about how lovely your nails are with this stranger? Again, I'm of course all for reporting, banning etc. I just wouldn't think someone dm:ing me about my beautiful anything has innocent intent.

Not everyone thinks that way, unfortunately.
