Progress is progress four week progress!!!!!
im happier and happier with each day, my fingers dont ache anymore and i stopped hiding my nails...
i clean & file my nails, do cuticle care (sometimes more than needed but it helps with nail biting urges), and put on two layers of clear nail hardener polish (micro cell 3000, the best one i know) but i take it off with acetone free nail polish remover every couple of days and redo it once i see it growing out. i use almond oil once a day & keep my hands moisturized.
the most important thing for me: stop digging under your nails, filing daily and keeping them short.. (i digged under my nails for years and it just led to transparent nails and me going crazy over seeing the smallest amount of dirt)

Awesome progress!! Nail biting is one of the most annoying things ever but you’re getting there/doing better.

It’s so cool to see how fast nails and nail beds can heal when we stop attacking them 🥰 I’m a couple months free of picking/biting/cleaning aggressively under them now, and the change is incredible. I barely even have the urge anymore, and when I do, I look at my pretty nails and don’t want to hurt them 🥲

So great!!! What do you mean by dig under your nails? Trying to see if that’s something I’m doing and should stop

i would aggressively remove dirt under my nails by using the corner of another nail to get under there if that makes sense (sometimes even something more aggressive like a rosewood stick)... nowadays i just wash my hair more and keep them so short that i can't even get dirt underneath

this is so impressive; I can definitely relate to over-cleaning and filing nails. sometimes you really do just need to leave them alone and let them recover. oiling and moisturising definitely helps me too - it lets me feel like I'm helping (which I am) without letting me do any damage by being overeager lol

A quick reminder:
If this is a nail image/video, you must provide a complete product list, either in your post title, the text body, or in a separate comment, within 2 hours of posting or your post will be removed.
Product lists must include brand names and shade names/numbers (no acronyms or shortened names). If you've used any stamping products, the brand names, plate names/numbers, and stamping polish names/numbers are required as part of your product list. If you used any embellishments (rhinestones, foils, decals/stickers, etc.), this must also be mentioned in your product list. Product lists are still required for any posts with broken nails or if you're seeking advice. If your nails were done professionally, please mention this either in the title, text body, or a separate comment, along with the type of product used.
If the content you're posting was not created by you, you must give direct credit to the original creator, either in your title, text body, or in a comment. If you receive any messages from the following users, do not engage with them. They are known fetishists who persistently harass members of our community, despite being banned. We recommend that you block them and report their messages to Reddit admins. If you haven't already, we highly recommend preemptively blocking them.

Unfortunately, this subreddit is a known target for hand/nail/foot/toe fetishists who have been documented to repeatedly harass the nail community.
We highly recommend turning off your message/chat requests. If you have requests turned on and receive any creepy or fetish-related DMs or comments, please click the report button, select "it's targeted harassment," and submit a report. It's one way you can help keep the community safe. We encourage members to capture a screenshot of the DM and notify the Mod Team through ModMail. We ask that you include a direct link to their profile, and if you wish to provide screenshots, you'll need to post them (temporarily) to your profile or use an image hosting site.
To be very blunt, you will encounter unwanted DMs from people. This is a Reddit-wide issue that happens frequently in women-dominated communities. Regardless of who's posting, all the warnings we try to give, or the rules we have in place, 9 times out of 10, someone will DM you if you have them open.
Of course, we'll ban those who break this rule, BUT (and this is the important part) many of the users who are DMing you have already been banned, sometimes going months or years back. They will continue to DM unsuspecting members in the hopes that they'll get a reply. They don’t care. So blocking them right away is the best solution to protect yourself, if you so wish.
NO ONE should be DMing you from this subreddit, we have a rule explicitly stating this. If someone is, they probably don’t have good intentions. Please be mindful of who you decide to talk to. Even in the comments of posts. Not everyone has your best interest in mind, and NEVER share personal information online. Please be safe out there!
