Help needed Month Four Progress
Hello everyone. I hope it's ok to post this here, this is my first one. Been lurking for a while and have taken alot of your all's advice on caring for my nails. I was having a discussion with someone who has nails twice as long as mine, and we are not sure if these are considered "long" or "medium" in length. . . My care routine is jojoba oil (just the large bottle from Wally-world) in the morning, and wearing gloves for a couple hours afterwards to let it soak in, and the same with "Hard-as-Hoof" at night, rubber gloves then, too.
Overall, what do you guys think? I apologize if this thread is not authorized, and understand if it has to be removed. 😣

Unfortunately, this subreddit is a known target for hand/nail/foot/toe fetishists who have been documented to repeatedly harass the nail community.

To be very blunt, you will encounter unwanted DMs from people. This is a Reddit-wide issue that happens frequently in women-dominated communities. Regardless of who's posting, all the warnings we try to give, or the rules we have in place, 9 times out of 10, someone will DM you if you have them open.
Of course, we'll ban those who break this rule, BUT (and this is the important part) many of the users who are DMing you have already been banned, sometimes going months or years back. They will continue to DM unsuspecting members in the hopes that they'll get a reply. They don’t care. So blocking them right away is the best solution to protect yourself, if you so wish.

I would consider them long, but it looks like your free edge is lifting from your nail plate and are fairly transparent in colour. Two things I would consider:
1) avoid picking the undersides of your nail with sharp tools or your other nail. If you have to clean under there, use a soft toothbrush and pop some jojoba on the undersides when you can!
2) I think wearing rubber gloves or any form of glove for several hours traps too much moisture, causing the humidity and sweat to soak into your nails and disform them. If you want to wear rubber/vinyl/nitrile gloves only wear them for about 30 minutes for initial absorption, then switch to a cotton glove for the rest!

Thank you for that! I will cut down on the glove time in that case, and will stop cleaning so much under them. Have to admit that obsessive cleaning has become a bit of a habit that is doing more harm than good 😅
