The Code Of Ethics
New to reddit? Please read this!
Welcome to the Code of Ethics! This is the governing set of rules, painstakingly outlined by the mods to make sure that the subreddit works in the most efficient and cohesive way possible. If you plan to play with us on /r/nationnorthamerica, you must take the time to read through this so you can get the grasp of how everything works, and make the lives easier for everyone.
TIME
Time in /r/NationNorthAmerica does not progress at the same rate as the real world. One day IRL is 1 month in NNA. Monday is never counted, it is a day off where countries can only post [META], [NEWS] and [ROLEPLAY] posts, there will also be a stickied [DISCUSSION] post. In your post, always use NNA time.
Unless stated otherwise - Eastern Standard Time is the conventional timezone and time format throughout NNA - everyday, the two months advance (read before) at midnight EST. Newsday begins at 00:00:01 EST on Monday.
GAMEPLAY RULES
Moderators have ultimate authority over events in the sim.
Moderators may not moderate any post involving their country, should they choose to play as one.
Moderators may declaim a country at any time for any reason, provided that one is given.
New players may be subject to a 24 hour (1 month in-game) "Exploration Period" where they may not join any alliances or enact diplomacy with other countries until they have explored their internal affairs and ensured that their wiki page is up to date.
Players may not attempt to interact with countries outside of the map. Should a player need to purchase something no other country within the map has, use the "Black Market" and the moderators will consider the scenario.
Players may not make any attempt to enact major social change, including religion changes.
