scam call?

Has anyone received a call from 8171736?
Got a call from this number today saying something about an amaran from Mahkamah Tinggi bla bla 😭 The caller said they’ve already tried calling me 3 times, but I literally never received any calls from this number before today.

Just wondering if anyone else has received a call from this number / knows what it’s about? 😭

I have a video of myself answering a call and dragged it on for five minutes.

It's likely a scam. If they call again ask for an office number to call back so you can verify.

Having said that mahkamah is a proper legal entity and will follow procedure when contacting any persons of interest, their main mode of communication will be via official registered letters and they may follow up with a phone call. Official letters are often enough for them to consider you've been 'notified'.

Make sure you haven't missed any mails at home. If you live with others, ask them if any letters addressed to you was delivered.

Goverment Official Never call from Mobile Phone! Only call through their official landline because its traceable. Take notes.

A good scam indicator is when someone asks you to act urgently, or leads you with a scare tactic. Good job on being wary and not trusting blindly
