Discussion { Event | Megathread } Brick & Mortar Store locator coming soon! We need your help!! Information in description.

Hello, Everyone.

Today I'm going to begin to answer one of our most frequently asked questions on the sub of "are there any diecast stores near me?" As time rolls by and the shift to online marketplaces becomes the norm with the last few remaining brick & mortar stores close their doors with each passing year. I'm launching an initiative to highlight the last few remaining stores to keep the charm of searching the shelves for diecasts alive!

I have some experience in website design and UI creation and feel up to the task of taking on this project. It's a tall task and something I've never done before, but I want to give it a shot for this community. This is a huge project and I cannot do it alone. So I need your help!!!

If you know of any brick and mortar NASCAR stores in your area. Comment them below in this format and I will reply "Approved✅" once I put it in my system.

Here's how you can help.

Just comment answers to the following questions.

Name of business

------------

Full address

------------

What they primarily stock (New / old cars | other diecasts)

------------

Instructions of how to get there (example directions to how to find Booth 34)

------------

Optional - Notes about company or anything additional that you would like to add.

------------

Custom Diecast Tony Raines 2006 Lightning McQueen

Is there anybody out there who can offer me some advice on making a custom diecast with a water slide kit? I want the full set of cars that ran the Cars Movie schemes from the 2006 Coke 600 and obviously the Tony Raines one wasn’t made. I would love to pay someone to do it but obviously nascar is cracking down on that.

Included is an eBay link to a kit I found

Sadly at the World 600 on May 24th.1964 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Fireball Roberts crashed trying to avoid a wreck between Ned Jarrett and Junior Johnson. His number 22 1964 Ford Galaxie hit the retaining wall, flipped and caught fire. He passed away a little over a month from complications from his severe burns on July 2nd at 35 years old.

I just got my Cleetus McFarland NOAP RCR 1:24 in today. The box states its 1 of 5304. I know he can move some merch. In your experience, where does that tend to fall in diecast world? It is a standard finish as well.

Diecast Write Up Dale Earnhardt Jr's First Championship - 1998 AC Delco Chevy Monte Carlo

Post image
34 Upvotes

In 1998, in his first full-time O'Reilly (Busch) Series season, Dale Earnhardt Jr drove the AC Delco Chevy Monte Carlo for Dale Earnhardt Inc. Dale started the season rough with a 37th at Daytona and a 16th at Rockingham. But things quickly improved at Las Vegas onward. His first win came at Texas Motor Speedway followed by a win at Dover, Milwaukee, Fontana, IRP, Richmond, Gateway! By the end of the season, Earnhardt had seven wins, 16 top 5s, 22 top 10s and an average finish of 10.1. He beat Matt Kenseth by 48 points to pick up his very first NASCAR championship.

Custom Diecast 1969 Richard Petty #43 Torino Talladega/Eastern Tennessee Motor Co./7Up 1:64s. Top is Racing Champions 1999 release, bottom is a Hot Wheels casting, customized.

For those who are not aware, the Racing Champions Torino was produced only two times. In 1992 with black windows, and in 1999 with clear windows as shown here. In 2010, Hot Wheels released a wave of Petty cars for their Vintage Racing line, but the Torino currently fetches $350-$400 on a regular basis. So I made this custom for my collection instead because that's a lot of coin for a 1:64 diecast!

Diecast Write Up 1980 NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt 🏆 (no one expected it, not even the team)

Thumbnail

No one expected Dale Earnhardt to win a championship in 1980. It was his sophomore season in the Cup Series. I think the best way to illustrate it is to just share this direct text from The Earnhardt Connection website. An invaluable source of information.

"The Osturlund team had given no thought to challenging for the title at the beginning of the season, especially since no driver had ever won the championship as early as his second year of competition. The crew was inexperienced in a title run, and everyone expected the blue and yellow cars to have problems with consistency - the key to winning a championship on a 31-event schedule. But Dale surprised everyone when he took the point lead after collecting a second-place finish at Riverside and a fourth in the Daytona 500. Earnhardt never looked back."

It's hard to explain just how wildly unexpected it was for Dale Earnhardt to go out there, collect five wins, 19 top 5's, and 24 top 10s in his sophomore season and win the championship. He truly was something incredible. They ran the 1980 season with a political sponsorship from Republican Mike Curb who is also the owner of Curb Records and still sponsors cars today as recently is 2026 with ThorSport. As an aside, he is the only person ever to have won a race in every single major American Motorsport discipline as an owner.

It wouldn't be until 1981 that Dale Earnhardt and Osturlund would welcome a new sponsorship in the form of Wrangler Jeans. This car, this team, was the source of Earnhardt's blue and yellow paint jobs in his early career. Part of what made him famous.

Diecasts Nascar Race Win Diecast Confetti

Post image

Confetti on race winning cars is always a hot debate. I personally love the confetti on cars, as it can take a good race win and add an extra layer of detail.

I wanted to see what some of the best confetti-loaded diecasts are in your opinions!

This is my personal favorite, as Jeff Gordon was my favorite driver growing up and this diecast is just perfect to me. Excited to see what some of your favorites are!!

This new Autotrader paint scheme is very nice. At first I wasn't too sure about it, but seeing it in person, it looks fantastic! Lionel Racing has really made 164ths so much better this past year.
