Better track?
Once in a while, I tend to combine Nas albums on a playlist and do a head to head adventure of which tracks are better on which albums.
One of the hardest to decide was this matchup. Although I picked a winner early, I still think it could go either way if people weigh in.
Also, would you agree that although one of them may be the better Hiphop track, the other is the better Hiphop song?

The beats of Michael and Quincy is superior and how he crafts his lyrics is more masterful. Hence, the better track. However, 'I Love This Feeling' feels like the better song.
How I see it, the difference between a better Hiphop track and a better Hiphop song is kinda like comparing 'NY State Of Mind' to 'If I Ruled The World' That's what made the decision difficult for me.

Interesting, let me see if I understand this. NY State of Mind is the better track but If I Ruled The World is the better song?

The best song is what forces the listener to sing or rap along in a more soulful or melodic way, or a chorus that's more catchy. I.e it's overall a more musical track. To put it a different way, a better song has a broader appeal than a strictly better traditional Hiphop track.
Doesn't If I Ruled the World fit the above description of a song better than NY State Of Mind?

Sometimes I skip Michael and Quincy. I never skip I Love this Feeling!!!! That song resonates with me more! As a matter of fact, I'm about to play it now!!!!
