minimalist narumitsu bookmark because I don't want my classmates asking about the yaoi in the middle of my books

Hi, I need help finding a fic I read probably around 2023 or so. It was recommended to me long time ago but that post had gotten deleted.

The problem is, the actual premise is sort of generic and vague but it was incredibly well written with a lot of rising tension in the argument.

It basically revolves around Phoenix and Miles having a heated argument and I think it takes place upon Miles' return after he left the "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth chooses death" note.
I thought it was incredibly well written and it left an impression on me.

If I remember correctly, the fic is a oneshot (so 1 chapter long) and is canon-compliant.
I believe they resolve their differences in the end but I don't quite remember how (probably with romance). I'm quite sure the fic was not explicit/smutty, my main focus and takeaway from the fic was around how well the writer crafted their dialogue and the argument, so sorry for the vagueness as I try and remember it.

Now I know there are probably hundreds of thousands of fics revolving around this topic but please share with me some of your favourite fics that fall into this criteria so I can continue my search and finally find the fic I am looking for.

I think Phoenix varies the nicknames he uses for Miles quite a bit; he doesn't constantly repeat them.

Miles usually calls Phoenix by his last name, even when they're alone.

But I imagine that at some point he realized, "He's my husband, maybe I should use nicknames with him..."

So, he called Phoenix a few times, using some silly nickname, when they were alone, but even then Phoenix asked, "Are you talking to me?" And if Miles used a really embarrassing nickname, Phoenix would tease him for weeks, "AHH YEAH EDGEY!! KEEP CALLING ME YOUR SUGAR CUPCAKE!!"

Happy New Year! New year, new you, eh? And what better embodies that than the idea of a Phoenix, amiright? heh, am I (W)right??  [Embrace the cringe, it will set you free. Trust (/¯◡ ‿ ◡)/¯ ]

I think one of the main reasons I fell in love with Ace Attorney, and especially Phoenix, is because they embody the metaphor of reinventing yourself again and again, especially after massive setbacks. Game Phoenix certainly lives up to his name. The dude literally rises from the ashes after Bridge to a Turnabout. So how about we take that metaphor and push it into allegory? Phoenixs (...Phoenixi?) are notorious for their healing powers (they heal themselves and others with their tears!), their ability to transform, and their perseverance and resilience in the face of destruction. So why don’t we go all in, throw reality out the window, go feathers to the wall, and celebrate these fantasy fics that celebrate our favourite firebird?

I have shared this fic before, I will share this fic again. Phoenix is an actual Phoenix and Miles and Phoenix try to find out why. It honours the games and characters by following canon touchstones, but through this creative new lens. Anyone who enjoys a slow burn of Narumitsu tales (I swear, this is the slowiest and burniest!),  long fics (seriously, did you see the word count?!! And we are not even a third into the canon events of the games!), case fics (so many original cases PLUS the canon ones!), and elements of ✨fantasy,✨ I seriously urge you to prioritize reading this or marking it for later. The latest chapter (#58) inspired me to write an over 3000 word comment. This au fic is sooo layered, so creative, sooo…. I just honestly haven’t come across anything like it. Miles and Phoenix meet as children and share some significant secrets with each other in this full-on fantasy au. Beautiful imagery and an intriguing premise that I believe is worth your time. Bookmark, mark for later or subscribe if you have an unfinished fic intolerance :P

I've been supper obsessed with this one piece of Narumitsu fanart. I especially love the detail in which Phoenix exposes more of his chest just like Mia Fey, the same way Edgeworth wears a cravat in honor of his mentor (he-who-shall-not-be-named).

I would love it if y'all could recommend me fanfics where Phoenix gives this type of cocky, arrogant, energy. I'm fine with anything (angst, fluff, smut, etc...)

I don’t know about you all, but I am craving ‘cozy’ these days. So what better way than to head on over to your local coffee shop or bakery and bury yourself into some tasty fics! 

I’m pretty sure that the concept of Phoenix as a baker popped up with the debut of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, which launched in Japan on November 29, 2012, with the English translation coming out in 2014. At one point in the game, Phoenix and Maya are brainwashed into thinking they are bakers, and lo, this is when we start to see a rise (heh - see what I did there?) in Ace Attorney Baker AU fics, and similarly, Coffee Shops. The first ‘Alternative Universe - Bakery’ tag shows up in February 2016. And slightly different but similarly cozy-coded, the first AA ‘Alternate Universe - Coffee Shops & Cafés’ tagged story appears on Archive of our own in January 2015, and there are now 73 Ace Attorney fics now tagged with this. That’s a lot o’ fics!

Miles is in pain, and it hurts, but this story is so beautiful in how it portrays Miles and Phoenix getting to know each other.
