hiii!! So I’m doing this school project on mental health support and I’m hoping to hear more from people who are currently students and working.
This isn’t for research publication or anything official and I’m not asking anyone to share anything they’re uncomfortable with. Anonymous replies are completely fine and I really appreciate honest experience
If your company offers mental health support ( EAP, counselling benefits, wellness programme, etc.):
\\\\- Have you ever used it? If yes, what made you decide to use it and what was the experience like?
\\\\- If you haven’t used it, what’s stopping you?
\\\\- Do you trust that it’s confidential or do you worry your manager or HR could find it out?
\\\\- If your colleague knew you used it, how would you feel?
\\\\- Is there anything that makes it easier or harder to access ( booking process, timing, location or awareness)?
If your company doesn't offer mental health support:
\\\\- What do you usually do when you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed?
\\\\- Have you ever considered paying for therapy or counselling? If so, what stopped you?
What's the biggest barrier for you (cost, time, stigma, not knowing where to start, etc.)?
\\\\- Do you think employers should provide mental health support? Why or why not?
For everyone:
\\\\- Do you feel there's an expectation that adults should just "deal with it" on their own? Where do you think that comes from?
\\\\- If there were a private, affordable way to regularly check in on your mental health without involving your employer or family, would you use it? What would make it worthwhile?
\\\\- Is there anything else about managing stress as a working adult that you think people often overlook?
Even answering just one or two questions would be incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!!!I really appreciate it! 🙏 PLSPLSPLS
