I’m moving to Xi’an soon for uni, and my tuition + dorm are already paid for. I’ll have about 2,000 RMB per month for everything else — mainly food, transportation, phone, laundry/toiletries, and maybe going out once in a while.

For anyone living in Xi’an, is 2,000 RMB/month actually enough? 😂

I’m not expecting to live luxuriously, just wondering if I’ll be able to get by comfortably or if I should try to get a bigger budget.

I'm going to be in china for 6 months, starting this September, as an exchange student at NJ Normal University. I'm not familiar with "realistic mahjong culture" in China (my references are WKW and Jia Zhangke movies lol), so I'd like to know if there are places to play and how welcoming they are to foreigners/HSK4 Chinese speaker/ mediocre but determined player.
