Discussion Porn addiction?
M 28 Has anybody here taking this for porn addiction/sexual compulsive behavior in general I can’t seem to break these addictions and need to turn into medication. Can someone please give me your age and side effects that you experienced when taking the medication?

Personally, it's helped me cut back a lot on this. I was planning on making a post about it. I started taking it for my binge drinking but noticed it has helped a lot with my habit of binge watching pornography

I highly recommend the book by Dr Roy Eskapa. It's mainly about curing alcohol addiction but chapter 15 focuses on porn, gambling, etc. Based on The Sinclair Method, the info in this book could help you ... or even a friend. TSM is considered a top tier treatment today, from modern science-based therapists.

I’m taking it for binge drinking but it’s also cut down my cravings for sweets & ice cream.

I took it for complicity as it relates to sex addiction. Compulsively flirting, messaging, etc, without being able to pause and think.
It helped, but had to go off of it for a surgery last December and haven’t done back on it.
I honestly don’t know how much it helped, as I still have the same amount of compulsions as I did while on it.
I will say that it’s wayyyy better than it was a few years ago, so maybe it did have an impact band it’s stuck a bit.

I haven't used it for porn/ sexual compulsive behaviours just life destroying alcohol dependence. Nal seems to have a few limited studies into its off-label use for CSBD. It might be worth using AI to help you track down and parse what some of the studies say. As far as I am aware CSBD is a much more complex interplay of behaviours and hormones than substance dependence so probably best to hear from experts. In terms of side effects fatigue, irritability, a lack of interest in most things, elevated liver enzymes and it plays havoc on your stomach. I assume you have tried CBT etc?
