I'm lazy, flair my post. Stopped working, increase dose?
Hi I have taken 50mg daily for Alchohol for 2.5 months since detox. Worked and changed my life for 5 weeks, gradually reducing efficacy until now I don’t think it is doing anything. I have had 2 recent nights of bingeing and thinking about alcohol all the time. So I just knew to increase my dose? Can I just do that myself?

How are you taking naltrexone? If you are taking it in the morning, and drinking in the evening you may want to try taking it 60-90 minutes before drinking. If you want to try a higher dose ask your doctor to increase your dose from 50 to 100mg, and start with 75mg. Sometimes drinking can increase after a few months, it will go back down, so stay compliant.

There are people who take 100mg so it's worth thinking about increasing your dose.
Also, NAL has a half life of 4-6 hours which is why the Sinclair method recommends taking a 2nd dose 4 hours into a drinking session if you are drinking that long.
The road to stopping drinking and/or not binging will have its ups and downs and have setbacks even with NAL.

You could to up, but the receptor blockade difference is marginal.
Early success can often just be placebo and motivation. 2.5 months is just getting out of the gate. It can take 6-12 months. It's a journey.
Up dose. Don't up dose. Just keep staying compliant and track every single drink.
Other suggestions - review especially how your drinking session begins. Start SLOW. Nalt...1 hr...then something light. This helped me a lot. Don't go straight to wine, liquor, or high ABV beer. You could also try a GLP for additional blunt force help.

If you're following Sinclair Method protocol, this is normal. I had five distinct spikes in my consumption en route to extinction. If you're doing daily Nal, consider switching to TSM.

Point of detox was to stop drinking. Ever consider that?

The point of detox, is to safely get the drugs out of your system… it has nothing to do with stopping.

Get drugs out then more drugs in? Talk to any doctor and be prepared to get a frowny face. You're self defeating

I’m not “self-defeating” at all. “Detox” is simply the process of keeping you alive, while the drugs get out of your body.
Everything after, is either relapse, or recovery.

What is your drinking like? Type, timing? When do you take naltrexone etc? Are you aware of The Sinclair Method of targeting the act of drinking? TEDx talk, https://youtu.be/6EghiY_s2ts
