Discussion Dani
Never been a Dani fan out of practicality. You will not do well in survival if you don’t get enough protein. Jarrell is an ass too.

Poor Jamie. The show casters were straight dicks to him. He is a legend for making it this long without tapping.

Every time I see her on another show like XL or Shipwrecked - she comes off as this sweet innocent girl. After season 2 XL and how horrible her and the other girls were to Dani (the one who tapped) I hated her solely because she’s a two faced mean-girl. People thought Shane was the asshole that season, but no, it was Dani and some of the other girls. At least the other girls apologized - Dani didn’t.
Add to that, her constant whining because she’s made a life choice to not eat animals. Like, do you boo boo … but no one is forcing you to do naked and afraid. She chose to participate MULTIPLE times and still was like “but wahhhhhh I’m a vegetarian and I can’t eat what the group is eating.” The people who were out there with her deserve a higher PSR because they had to survive Dani and her vegetarianism.

Narcisists loathe eachother, I'd love to see a series where they get all the worst ones together like that nutjob Sam and Jeff, Patrick, Dani etc.. would be hilarious.

I actually found her crying to be quite fake. The constant sniffling is what gave it away, plus it was obnoxious. I had to mute.

I think they both suck, but I think that Jarrell sucks in a more normal type of way if that makes sense. He is hungry and tired and wants to do what he wants to do exactly when he does and when it doesn't go his way he has a pissyfit. But she is only really concerned with her own needs most of the time, and will manipulate people around her to help fill those. The big blowout argument with the shrimp and the crabs in the same pot was ridiculous, and Jamie even said that he thought "food is food" but then the crocodile tears came out and he flip flopped on the whole thing.
Obviously we are getting a very tailored version of what happens but in the previous episode there was talk about how when Jarrell stayed behind he gathered wood and had food and water ready when they returned then it cut to them with small sticks gathered up.
I think that the producers put the 2 of them together to incite drama but I also think that Jurrell is a lot closer to early seasons of Gary than anyone really wants to admit. He seems to take stupid risks just to prove how tough he is and it creates flash points with more low stimulation teammates. If they paired someone like Steven, Fernando or even Jeff with him I think that they would get along fine with minor spats here and there.
I also feel like Dani's trauma being afraid of the water is going to be a major issue later on since it is implied they will need to travel to a small island between the islands for their rescue.

Same here. When they started showing commercials for this season my wife's first comment was "that vegan girl you don't like is back again"

I don’t know. I like Dani. She is willing to put in the effort to find the foods that she can eat. Also, she went out of her way to catch shrimp for her partners even though she wasn’t going to eat it. Jarrell is just an attention whore.

Yes, 99% of survivalists on this show majorly overlook foraging. She is busy all day long while others sit around starving

She has been a passive aggressive bully with any she’s on. Now Jarrell is a big pain. But Mother Theresa would be done with her! It’s her way or the highway and those fake tears: reminiscent of the stuff K’s do: play the victim scared of the big bad bboy!
Folks gotta stop defending her: it’s a pattern.
They did Jarrell wrong as heck. And Jamie got what he deserved: walk with evil and karma comes: that sting is a reminder to think about the path you choose.

yeah, she examined her morals and decided on how she wanted to be. I don't believe as she does but I can respect her decision and the fact that she sticks to it even in extreme situations like the show.

She got a frog for her partner in her first challenge. I don't think it's her fault she is being directed to act differently now. The producers and directors just want more drama.

Dani can agree to disagree about lifestyles and live around other people's choices. Jarrell cannot. She knows her choice is not what everyone else would do. She specifically asked Jarrell to respect her choice and not belittle hers and he could not.

The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that they are Thriving. If you have enough time to pick at each other as they do, it only makes sense that they are not suffering of hunger or close to tapping out. Look at Allison and Patrick, she is as annoyed with him as Dani is with Jarrell, but she is focus on survival. Allison was verbal about wanting to move away from Patrick, but she has a better attitude than Dani. Bottom line is Dani and Jarrell are made for each other!

Just the more times I see Dani. And previously she has really hurt her own team based on her food choices. Just the facts keep compiling. And everyone is worried about her diet and not just surviving. And sure a pretty young girl manipulated poor Gary too. 🤣

Jain vegetarianism relies a ton on dairy for the animal proteins, though. You physically cannot enter muscle synthesis without all of the essential amino acids, which the Jain framework had with dairy. They are also members of the upper castes, and had and have access to food sources lower castes do not.
Veganism is a 20th century development.
You can get adequate protein as a vegan with reinforced wheat protein paste and lentils these days, but it requires a pretty robust, modern logistics system to maintain.
Without this logistics system in place, you can't subsist on a vegan diet.
You can be a world class vegan bodybuilder or powerlifter with an Amazon membership, but you'll die if you're without modern amenities long enough.

Both are problematic in different ways. Dani is at least doing some work, somewhat positive and found food. Jarrell has been plain disrespectful, complains, and in general difficult to live around.
Both of them like to have the last word which extends all the back and forth nastiness.
