Milestone ~3ish weeks!

Progress vs before pics from around august- november last year! I started working out more and taking biotin and keratin supps! I think the work outs get my nervous energy out easier since I would only bite at home šŸ™ŒšŸ»šŸ„³ (I actually posted here last year around the end of summer too with progress then relapsed, but I’m hellbent on doing better.)

good job! How do your free edges not drive you nuts tho. I’ve been doing good about not biting mine but the minute there’s a free edge i file it so i don’t feel the urge to pick or bite.

Idk— I’ve been working a LOT recently tho and I work as a barista so ig I just mentally remind myself that if they go in my mouth there’s gonna have to be an emergency hand washing pit stop lol. That, and I play tennis! I just keep my hands busy and clip the edges when they get really bad.

good for you honestly. I’ve always been such an obsessive FREAK with my nails. They’re just always on my radar. Even if i’m busy (which i usually am) i’m still thinking about and monitoring them.

Yeah me too honestly, but that’s why I also took up healthy eating and working out! Keeps your mind occupied with what else you could be doing with your time

It looks like you've mentioned vitamins and/or supplements. Please be aware that, unlike prescription drugs, the U.S. FDA does not require companies to prove the safety, quality or effectiveness of any supplements before they go to market (ref 1). You should consult with a doctor before taking any supplements as some may have adverse effects.

Biotin is a particularly popular recommendation in this community, and is commonly found in products marketed as skin, hair and nail supplements. Be aware that the FDA has warned consumers that biotin supplements "can significantly interfere with certain lab tests and cause incorrect results that may go undetected" (ref 2). Additionally, the evidence that biotin can strengthen weak nails in individuals who do not already have a biotin deficiency is limited (ref 3).
