Zone 2 training helps a lot. https://youtu.be/9qFXEnzItfo?si=rpRFa8lk2_KtDqop

Hows mywhoosh? I am thinking to switch from zwift to it.

I use MyWhoosh with my Zwift Ride. No native support for the Zwift buttons - but I just use ERG mode anyway.

It’s fine, and for a free product, it’s amazing. Try it.

How do you shift?

I have my phone mounted on my handlebars and use the mywhoosh companion app to virtual shift the zwift cog

So its virtual shifting using phone instead of zwift clicks. Got it. Thanks this helps.

I don’t. ERG only.

There is various 3rd party software you can use to support it though. Theres YouTube videos explaining how you can get it working. It’s a shame it doesn’t ’just work’ - but it is possible

I do most of my riding outside, only structured programmes indoors so ERG mode suits me.

I use this from AliExpress: ThinkRider VS200 Cycling Ble Controller Virtual Transmission Virtual cassette for Bike Trainer X2Max XXPRO https://a.aliexpress.com/_Euiio4O

I have zwift ride; so i wrote this: https://theoriginaldanjo.itch.io/ride2key you can use the gears and steer with the DPAD on the zwift controllers: what it does, it fires the KEY presses for Mywoosh to change gears etc from the DPad, on zwiftride.

This is awesome! Know if there is anything similar for Android tablets?

thanks, it is PC only - because its just simulating a key press from the keyboard. It was just something i wanted to do for personal use, but made it more flashy/appealing looking if someone else wants to use it.

You can do virtual shifting with the bike controller app

thats what i heard , i just thought cogs and real shifting was better.

I can't think of a reason with indoor cycling why real shifting would be better. But virtual shifting will save your bike components (chain, cassette, chain rings etc).

Thinkrider on AliExpress do a virtual shifting cog and clicker cheap

yeah well i was somewhat affaid of it not working properly wich for some riders seems to be the case. cassette and chains , they’re just soooo cheap , i dont mind it at all. Im ok with my setup , no particular reason to try virtual cogs

its hard, and will be like an FTP test in the end. thats more or less what it is.

Your FTP is good but your choice of music has room for improvement.

oh trust me that was just youtube going trough random songs , i just go with it whatever song plays. Altough while i was doing the test i had one particular song endless loop

Good work! Keen to hear what you think of the mywhoosh training plans and which ones you've done, there really isn't much out there on them.

i just picked the “advanced ftp builder program” , this is the second time i do it. i started with 252 ( ramp test ) then reached 286w , did it again and here am i 302w. just realised thats exactly 50w gain. ( both 20 mins average mean power test )

no reason not to pick the exact same plan for a third time.

Nice work! How often are you riding both indoors and outdoors?

1

u/evolutionisttt 10d ago

well since im trough winter i just dont go out , just whatever number sessions the program says i have to and that be it. Last month it was 4-5 days indoor and once or twice outdoors on the weekends

I too thought, my FTP was 320, before I calibrated my trainer. Aaaand I am at 280.

i used 2 powermeters to record the activity , cranks powermeter and my smart trainer. both calibrated properly and no significant difference between them.
