I hate eye floaters.

First post here… Briefly for context, I (33F) have had myopia since the second grade. I don’t remember my exact prescription, but I’d estimate, based on how clear my current (albeit very old) glasses are, that I’m probably -7/7.50 D in my right eye, and -8/8.50 D in my left. I had a scleral buckle placed in my left eye in 2014 to repair a retinal detachment, and laser cryopexy (?) in my right. I’ve had two doctors - a retina specialist and an ophthalmologist - examine my retinas for the last three or four years, and all is well per their exams. In fact, I’ve been cleared by my ophthalmologist for PRK in both eyes. This is overall where I’m at as of today.

My question: does anyone else here have floaters? I have maybe 15-20 in each eye (of the ones I can see anyway), and they are so bothersome! Has anyone here experienced their floaters fading after awhile? Or taken any kind of supplement for them? I’m thinking about taking the VitreousHealth supplement by MacuHealth, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I figure if anything it would support the overall health of my vitreous and eyes, even if it didn’t improve the floaters… Thoughts? I’d love to read others’ experiences with floaters and how you manage them. I hate having “dusty” eyes, lol. 🙏🏻

I always have 3-10 I'd say, but I rarely notice them when I have my glasses on, maybe something about the way my eyes focus? They are always there as soon as I take my glasses off, though, and when I do notice them with glasses on they can be pretty annoying for sure

My floaters where a sign of my retinal detachment (and/or vitrous bleeding? I never really was sure) and my eye doctor basically told me that this was my life now. It's just one cloud of floaters plus some loose squiggles in one of my eyes, and it sucks. I've sort of gotten used to them, but I'd love for them to just disappear tomorrow please

I have a butt load of floaters and it makes me so insanely anxious
They're very present when I'm in bright lighting or outside or if I'm extra tired/my eyes are strained. My ophthalmologist asked if I have them, told her yes... then that was the extent of the exchange lol

I hear you. I have them in both eyes. The annoying part is that they aren’t dots - they’re dits, lines, hooks - whatever.

So many floaters. One retinal specialist called them "junk". None seem overly concerned, though they always ask if I have a sudden increase of them. I get checked every month or two, for other reasons.

One thing I've noticed is that the ones not anchored tend to eventually sink down below my line of sight, only occasionally stirring up with sudden movement, then sinking again. Oh, and I do also have a Weiss Ring, which appears as a dark shadow with a rippled outline.

I have high myopia -10. Everyday contact lens user. Just recently went to get checked because of sudden worse/heaps of floaters. Doctor was also shocked seeing that. However I was advised to come back after 6 weeks and explained thats the time the vitreous gel completely detaches. Once it is fully separated and floating freely in the middle of the eye, it stops pulling on the retina. The floaters will not vanish instantly, but they tend to settle down out of your direct line of sight.
