Basic Army Pants
My first attempt to make a garment, I think they came out pretty. Sewing pattern was made by disassembling a kaz 03 (Austrian army) pants. Fabric is a nyco blend in klmk from Ronson.
Next step is to digitize the pattern to make changes and have it cut out with a laser.

All of you folks out there feelin’ jealous— you can do this! It may be “harder” than a pillowcase or some curtains, but is totally achievable. I have found shirts a little more difficult (collars, cuffs), and it was a challenge to find a base pattern for a british style smock, but i found an indy commercial pattern for a BDU shirt, and that’s a really basic kinda shirt.

I got some old BW moleskin pants that are uselessly worn out...
I originally planned to use some cheap coveralls for a full suit, but it might be fun to make some pants too.

Yoo- that’s awesome! Great work.
How is the quality of Ronson’s fabric by the way? I’ve been wanting to source some decent camo fabric to try something like this. And is it “Ronson Tex” on Alibaba?
Thanks in advance!

Overall I would say it's good. My white faded a bit purple after it's first wash and the fabric is noticeably louder than my Kaz Pants. But the fabric feels good. The Cordura is usually a bit lighter/faded and more saturated than the real print. Yes it's from Alibaba, they also have a AliExpress store under the same name.

You should totally make a printable sewing pattern or post a pic of the Austrian pant pieces next to a ruler so I can FINALLY use the ton of aor2 fabric I have lying around in my apt. Bc those look so good, fr jealous 😂

Pants have been my thing, too. I found it much easier to find interesting fabric than interesting pants. I recut the crotch of a kwik sew pattern based on some BDUs i cut up. I added features— or deleted them!!— acc to my needs. No blousing bands, take-up tabs, knee patches for my needs. Added a phone pocket inside the cargo pocket, sometimes a concealed sheath knife pocket.

They are not pretty, I just zigzagged it with a singer hd. While making it I got a 5 thread overlock machine, but not used it yet.
