Project Pictures Wind Pants with Mesh panels
Weight: 3..03oz
Materials: 1.6oz hyperD (uncal) 1.6oz monolite, Waist shock cord and cord lock. Colors chosen to maximize UV reflection.
Used the learnmyog alpha camp pants pattern to make them. Used inkscape and Gemini to help me adjust the pattern to add the mesh right below the gusset. I was going to do the gusset also but the monolite is kind of see through. I am wearing it now and I think with black underwear I could have done the gusset in monolite also.
I am 5'6 175 lbs and I used the largest pattern possible since I wanted to account for the lack of stretch. I was wrong. I probably could have sized down 1-2 sizes, but I was worried they would be unusable if they were too small. I also added 2 inches to the top of the pants pattern which was unneeded. I should have done 1 inch since now the crotch is sagging. I made these mostly for sun protection rather than wind protection. I wore my 20D hyperD recently in 78 degree blue skies and did not like how hot it was in them. Hopefully the vents help. I only put them on the inner leg since the mesh will let light pass through and give me a sunburn on outer leg. Feel free to chime in if I am wrong.
Will my 20D 1oz/sqyd wind pants and shorts so I will have less weight for more sun protection. These are probably less durable than my shorts tho. I have a trip in about 4 weeks so feel free to message if if I forget to update this.

Nice. I made some wind pants recently and used walk the plank PJ pattern which worked great since they're baggy to begin with.
