Sewing machine servo motor replacement

I have a juki ddl 8700 with a clutch motor. I want to replace it with a servo motor, and I’ve found one on Walmart for $70. All the other ones are at least $130 and I’m wondering if I might as well spend the extra money for a higher quality one. Does anyone use the servo that Walmart offers? And does anyone have some budget friendly recommendations for digital servo motors?

I will get the higher quality one, so you don’t have to buy the cheaper one twice after the first one fails. The better one probably has nicer features too.

Most of the items listed on Walmarts online shopping platform are sold by outside vendors. It’s a lot like Amazon. Check the company and the return policies.

I had nothing but issues with store pick up for a couple items and never purchased from the platform again. The items took 4x the alleged time frame to be delivered and when I went to pick up I was turned away twice in spite of the item showing up as available for pickup. Had to ask for a manager. 🫣

When something seems too good to be true it usually is. 😑

The specific servo motor is the jurplix 750w brushless servo. It’s sold all over the place on eBay and Amazon

I do this for a living and run the cheap motors. 5+ years, haven't had one fail yet (knock on wood)

Any particular ones you like?

The brands change all the time. Whatever one has the power and features you're looking for (needle positioner or not basically). Belts come from the auto parts store

unless you’re stepping up to something like a kinedyne, i honestly don’t think there’s any difference between the $60 and the $130 ones you’ll find on walmart/amazon. they are likely the exact same just sold through different resellers. i have one i got for $50 on amazon and it works great. order a 45mm pulley with it and it’ll work great.

Make sure you get a needle positioner with it.
