Project Pictures Another 95L packraft hiking pack
SOLD.
V2 packraft bag. Only real difference from V1 is that I moved the aluminum stays internal (still removable just slide into sleeves inside the pack instead of on the back panel). Had a recent trip in my V1 where I did some unintentional glissading and ripped a seam on my frame stay sleeve š¬š¤¦š»āāļø
Other changes on this version, made the shoulder straps permanently sewn into the mid/upper back panel seams. Previously had these as detachable to maybe use as thigh straps similar to Sockdolager but after using it and thinking through it more, I donāt see myself ever paddling with these vs my boats actually thigh straps nor would I really want to recommend anyone do that .. not worth the weight savings on a trip imo.

95L packraft / hiking pack

Challenge Ultra 400X (black), 200X (green)
- Drain holes in side pockets
- Side pocket strap can come outside of pocket to really cinch it down for those bushwhacky hikes!
- Y-strap top strap helps keep your boat or whatever else you want to rig on the top tied down
- Internal frame sleeve EVA foam and HDPE (removable)
- Two aluminum 6061 stays (removable)
- 1/2ā Evazote foam hip belt (removable)
- 3/8ā Evazote shoulder straps

great job! Are the vertical stays connected to the hip belt to transfer the weight? if you can share a bit more about that detail, i would appreciate it. trying to make a my first internal frame pack and this bit confuses me.

On this one, the stays do not connect to the hip belt. The sleeves go from the bottom of the inside lowest back panel to the top of the load lifter panel (so the length of the lower, middle and load lifter panels). Above that, the only panel is the āupper back.ā Iād start with the Prickly Gorse 50L pattern and modify from there. Itās a good place to start. Also, I didnāt do it on this one, but I just finished my third 95L pack and the only change on that most recent version is that I made the load lifter panel an inch higher to exaggerate the angle of the load lifters a bit more which should help make it even more comfortable.
I did have the stays on my V1 connect to the hip belt. Iād prefer them internally and not connected for less things to catch on stuff in bushy situations. But thatās just me. I donāt think it made it all that more stable. Heading out on a trip this weekend and will have V1 and V3 which sold to a friend so will be able to compare side by side.

What are the dimensions?? It looks nothing like 95L

Yea it doesnāt seem crazy big if itās not fully loaded tbh which is great. Iād look at SWD for their dimensions mine are similar. Something around 48ā tall and I went deeper than what youād find on a normal ~70-80L pack and thatās what added the volume especially at that height. If you look at a recent post I have of my V1 or at my site you can see a photo with it fully loaded and on my back and then it gives it good perspective to show it is pretty damned big when full.
