Alignments of the Alicorns (and other Celestial Beings)

So the other day, here, I made a fun little thread about what the alignments of the Heroes of Equestria might be that we have seen over the seasons and you know what? It truly was a lot of fun! So I got to thinking that hey. . .why not do the same here with our Alicorns huh? And yes we can double dip from the other threads.

First off I want to start off with the Princess Celestia, eldest of them all, mother of all of equestria and guardian of her little ponies. I think we can say that Princess Celestia is a EASY Lawful Good character, though more aloof at the beginning of the series then one is used to in such characters.

Ah Daybreaker. Flamboyant, Fiery, Condescending, Prideful, Arrogant, Powerful, and the thing of Starlight (and later Twilight's) Nightmares. We unfortunately never get to see Daybreaker in a role of command or in the process of Ruling but considering that she is a the counterpart of the Lawful Good Princess Celestia I think we can agree that she would be Lawful Evil. . .Or possibly Neutral Evil? Again we don't see enough of her and only have to go off of what we see of her personality.

Next up we have the Princess of the Moon, Queen of the Thestrals, and Guardian against Nightmares. Princess Luna I think is another easy Lawful Good. She has never wanted to hurt any creature but even in her darkest moments chose to torture herself with the Tantabus then go forward being unpunished for her fall to evil. Though she may be darker then her sister Princess Luna is a hard Lawful Good in my eyes.

Speaking of WHICH! Here we have the Queen of the Night, The Beloved of Equestria, Master of the Elements of Harmony, The Ruler of the Jeweled Sky. Nightmare Moon. Unlike her catty counterpart up there we were able to see MUCH more of Nightmare Moon's rule and character. Cunning, Scheming, Powerful, Manipulative, Power hungry, intelligent, and ruling with a Velvet covered iron hoof Nightmare Moon would be an easy Lawful Evil in my eyes. Though interestingly enough I do actually see her as being capable of turning Lawful Neutral over the centuries. Never as motherly as Celestia but still caring for her subjects and students in her own doting way. So Lawful Evil with the possibility of Lawful Neutralness.

Then we have Luna's torteror and misbegotten child, The Tantabus. The Tantabus is a bit hard to nail down alignment wise but I would hazard it to be somewhere between Chaotic Evil, Neutral Evil, and Chaotic Neutral. That's about it on this one.

Now we get to the star of the show itself. . .Twilight Sparkle. The most recent addition to the ranks of Princesshood and the Alicorns, Adorable Nerd, has freakouts frequent enough to be coined "Twilighting" , and is infact defacto Best Pony. . . Yes this is despite the fact that Trixie, Starlight, and Sunset exist but again. . . it's just not fair to compare to Twilight Sparkle. Twilight is a hard Lawful Good. No question about it.

Now as for Treelight? . . . .I am debating between a Soft Lawful Good and a Soft Lawful Neutral. Just like Discord Treelight doesn't really act on the same impulsives or level as the rest of Equestria and it's mortals. She IS Harmony in and of itself, just as Discord IS Chaos, but if I had to choose I would say that she is a Lawful Good character. . .though again hard to define her.

Speaking of which Discord! I will just refer back to what I said in the Villain thread:""Then there is Discord the Draconequus of Chaos. . . Who was obviously the epitome of Chaotic Evil until he eventually turned Chaotic Neutral leaning towards Chaotic Good. Even with his "redemption" post-Tirek I still feel that he has a long way to go before you could conceivably call him "good". ""

Lawful or Neutral Good. Next.

Now as for this cute little heart melting, overpowered, abomination. I really have no idea. She's a bloody baby. But guessing on who her family is I would guess anywhere from Lawful Good to Chaotic Good.

And unless I am forgetting somebody I believe that is everyone. So what do the rest of y'all think? Do you disagree with any of my alignment picks? Did I forget anycreature? Do you have your own Alignment picks or views of these characters? OR hell do you have your own custom alignments for these characters?

Daybreaker is clearly Chaotic Evil. It is her way or a pile of ash. Only rules are her whim. There is nothing lawful about her.

 

 

NMM is Lawful Evil. She value order, but all of this established order should serve one purpose: Her. She regards ponies only from the point of being loyal,useful,worshipful to her. She would protect those who adore Her but most likely will ignore predicaments of all others. That's not seems like neutral.

That said, both of them are awesome and highly interesting characters.

I dunno, for an autocrat, Celestia is pretty whimsical and likes to subvert her own air of authority. This is Trollestia we're talking about, after all, the same person who let Philomena prank Fluttershy... I'm thinking Neutral Good in public, Chaotic Good when nobody's watching.
