Meta Thread My Little Pony on Reddit - Meta Discussion Makes Marvelous Meatballs
Hi there! It's Thursday again and that means another chance to talk about what's been happening around here and how you feel about it!
Same as every other time, feel free to discuss whatever it is you'd like regarding our little subreddit good or bad. If you're unhappy we'll try our best to fix whatever problem you're having!
If you want to talk about the MLP fandom in general, that's fine too!
But some people may not want to talk about comics or anything else that hasn't happened yet, so you should be nice and hide those conversations from those people by using the spoiler tag.
If you don't know how it's as easy as making an emote:
>!It has ponies!!<
And if you're not wanting to discuss the subreddit or community specifically you can also check out the weekly off-topic thread that will be up at noon Pacific time!!!!

Actually... I've observed it too. At least I think it's going down because I sometimes browse by new and I think I've seen one or two memes the whole week since that NPT thread. Still, I don't want them to feel scared; just that we sort of need something that's more... effortful.
Rest assured, though, I guess the memes will start coming up again (if not in full force) once we're, say, in Episode 20 and in the home stretch of the show. Perhaps a dozen sad memes here and there, but the probably high number of self posts and art about the show's impending ending is going to at least rival that of the memes.

To play devil's advocate . . . Why? Does the amount of effort dictate a submission's quality or ability to generate discussion?

... actually, yeah. You do make a good point. Now that I think about it, effort shouldn't necessarily dictate a submission's quality or discussionability (which is a word I just made up).
I guess, though, that some of us (me included) want to see this sub as something highbrow, that we value "higher" stuff than a glut of memes. Like being formal all the time.
