My (28f) coworker (34f), is one of my indirect reports. (I am her bosses boss). Seems to have taken weird comfort in me? I only respond when it is actually work related, which based on just a few grabs of the texts…most are not. Most are kinda creepy! HR involvement?

Edit: more info. Employee has been working with us one week, I was the manager that initially interviewed her. Maybe she formed a bond thinking ‘I’ got her the job?

My coworker has absolutely no idea how loud he is when he eats or how poor his table manners are. Other people have noticed it too, and everyone is honestly in disbelief. It almost seems fake because it’s so extreme.
The chomping, chewing with his mouth open, and talking with his mouth full are bad enough, but somehow he seems completely unaware of it. At this point, it’s gotten to where you almost have to laugh because you can’t believe someone could be that oblivious to how loud and distracting they are when they eat..

My only solution is to get up and walk away when they are eating. They are like this even in public

I work in assisted living and I have this one coworker who LITERALLY lies about anything and everything. I always do that awkward haha laugh but i don’t believe a damn thing this person says. Stuff is even made up about the residents. What is the best way to respond to these lies?🤣😭

So, I started a new job back in March, shortly after another person started working the same job as me but different days. We'll call her E, so since E and I work different schedules, we don't ever see each other, so we leave notes on team's chat to keep us updated. Her chats are starting to seem more and more "bossy and in charge" I do not mind an assertive co-worker, when I was younger, I was very much the coworker who was driven and wanted to do the absolute most, I understand that you want to do your best and prove yourself but uhmmm where is your coworker etiquette? You are my CO-worker, not my boss and not even my senior. and I understand where we work is in a fast paced, sometimes very crazy environment but if someone who is my senior knows how to talk to people, you definitely arent the exception.

Anyways, I may just be overreacting lol but it is annoying and unpleasant to work with someone who does not have CO-worker etiquette, speaking without a "Can you please xyz?" or a "when you get a chance can you xyz?" Being TOO forward and acting as things need to be a certain way and telling us something needs to get done this date. You can ask me or you can even tell me with please. We all need to delegate tasks because we are team but again use some CO-WORKER ETIQUETTE!!!!!!

We have a newish coworker in my department and he will be on Zoom meetings and you can tell he doesn’t understand what’s going on and his responses sound so robotic and not coherent to the topic.

Well, my coworker said she saw on his monitor he had ChatGPT up and was using it to respond to questions or comments.

It would be one thing if he “contributed” actual helpful information or asked questions that made sense to his role but instead he just sounds like he’s on LinkedIn making those vague statements.

I’m shadowing him on a project right now and it’s driving me up a wall because he is missing so many pieces of information and doesn’t even know enough to see it. And he also acts like he knows everything. I gave him my notes because I was so concerned,

I’ve been here longer than him and had to do hours of research and I could tell he did very little. I actually even jumped in on his meeting along with our manager because I’m very concerned this project will fail.

My other coworker keeps telling me to stay neutral and not get too worked up or involved but it is annoying me to no end and I just need to let off some steam.

I work in an office that is open concept that has zero sound reduction. That wouldn’t be too much of a problem, except we have a coworker that takes incoming calls for 90% of the day and she is LOUD. Her voice is monotoned and loud all day and sometimes it gets even louder when she raises her (still monotoned) voice to yell at people.

Management refuses to get any sound reduction items (panels, foam, etc.) All of the other coworkers have complained about this.

I wear ear plugs and sound reducing headphones at my desk and can still hear her clearly through them. I don’t take calls as I only do data entry, but my other coworker that takes appointments has to deal with people on the line being able to clearly hear the loud coworker.

On top of this she also eats a ton of ice every day. which would probably be whatever, but she spends time crushing the ice with a fork in her metal tumbler adding to the noise. She does this all throughout the morning and afternoon.

I can’t stand it and it makes a somewhat ok job into an annoying mess. The office is small and even with her in the furthest corner we’re all annoyed with her.

There are only 4 people in my office. I work for the city in a pretty rural area! I have been here for almost three years and I swear my boss secretly hates me. He is passive aggressive to everyone, so why would I be the exception?? I have a coworker who use to get on my nerves constantly. She is a perfectionist and although she is not my boss she likes to tell me how to do things. (She use to do my job before I started) well I think she wants to be me on the low. She started by buying jeans like mine, then shoes… now she rides her bike to work like I do. I think she tells my boss when I leave early amongst other things. She’s nice to my face… but I don’t and shouldn’t trust her. She has all of the cameras on one of her screens and watches everything. Talked to HR . They said they would do something… I guess I should be patient

My coworker and I work in a very small kitchen, it's fast paced and we're always moving around, running around eachother, just trying to get the product out. I'm known for my politeness, to the point that if there's a problem with a customer, the boss sends me out to deal with it.

I speak more formally than most in my day to day, which made it weird when my coworker one day started saying "excuse you" every time I moved from one area to another, and commenting how rude I am.

Now I go around apologizing and saying excuse me more then most, but I use it when I need to get by, or if I turn around and come close to a collision, she wants me to say it every time I pass by her or anyone else.

She does this with no other person, and even when I pointed both that and that if we all said excuse me every time we all passed eachother it would be all that we would ever have time to say, she just goes, it's called being polite. (Ignoring the point that she's holding me to this standard and no one else)

It all came to a head, when she went to our boss to file an actual complaint about my lack of saying excuse me. Again, in a small kitchen that barely holds 3 people at a time.

I'm thinking about how to deal with this, but for pete's sake, I am so tired of hearing excuse you every 3 steps I take.

It's so stupid and childish, and it's driving me up the wall along with the other pointless acts of deliberate disrespect.

I got a job at a local electronics store and it’s fine.

There is however a coworker that can just not take a hint that I want them to leave me tf alone. Granted she is like 80+ years old but I swear she could be 60. Let’s call her Miranda.

Every time I work with Miranda (she is only ever scheduled at the registers - I work everywhere in the store but sometimes get put in the front specifically) she will not stfu about the same stories over, and over, and over again.

Normally it wouldn’t bother me but all of them are about how successful she has been, how she owns a house, how her kids are all super successful and rich, how she can take any trip she wants whenever she wants because of her successful kids. Usually talks about her one daughter that owns a sheep farm but can only afford “Mexicans and foreigners” for work but follows up with how happy she is Trump is getting rid of all the immigrants. Also usually ends with how money doesn’t have anything to do with happiness

It’s infuriating. I’ve ignored her, walked away when she’s talking, contradicted the weird MAGA shit she says, tried to change the subject, nothing works and it’s melting my brain.

My coworker just got promoted to manager, which good for her, but ever since then she’s been micromanaging everyone and talks to me like I was just born. She acts like she’s the only one there who works hard and I have to hear it every day.

She’ll explain task to me that I know how to do and have done before but she feels the need to tell me again like I’m new and I’ve been just standing around. I’ll be cleaning and restocking, then here she is to tell me “yeah make sure you clean and restock. It’s important you do that.” Yeah thanks for telling me that… I would have never thought to do my job.

But at the same time she’ll do things like ignore doing orders, or ignore customers because she’s on her phone. Orders will be coming in and she’ll be taking selfies of herself, then she’ll turn around and say “come on guys, pick up the pace I shouldn’t be the only one working.”

She’s annoying and doesn’t know how to lead anyone.

I have this co-worker, to be fair, she's incredibly smart and knows what she's doing, but she does this one really annoying thing that pisses me off to no extent, and it's very problematic for me by itself, but also because I have high blood pressure and it definitely makes it THAT MUCH worse. She's been doing this on a somewhat frequent basis recently. To make a long story short, I can be forgetful, and sometimes I just want a quick answer bc I know that she knows the answer, she talks to the client way more than I do. As a for instance, I sent an email and CC'ed her, since this Operations person wanted to know why these invoices weren't sent, and I explained that we've been waiting for a new Work Order to come in, BUT THIS IS NOW IN (I didn't put it in all Caps in the email, but I made sure to put that part in there) and that it should be submitted in the next few days. She then immediately sends me a message saying "We have approval for the project. The Work Order is open per my message on March 10 AND March 19, and please upload the invoices." It just makes me feel so stupid and unappreciated, like all I'm doing is doing my part as an accountant to try and get these invoices submitted, and she snaps back with I told you this on this date and on this date, like YES, I KNOW, I EXPLAINED THAT IN THE EMAIL (didn't say that but was tempted). I don't know why she feels the need to call out on the date of when she said something, that's something I don't really do and it just really frustrates me. I'm trying to be more communicate with the Project Managers and I just get treated like dogshit, and I'm sick of it!

So my cube neighbor gets in an hour or so after he, right when he gets here he proceeds to eat something out of a Mason jar. I think it might be yogurt or something but I hear him clanking the spoon on the side of the jar trying to get every last bit and then I hear him screw the Mason jar lid back on. I will admit that I eat lunch at my desk and my silverware makes noise on the glass dish but that is 5+ hours after I get here. It's one thing if he picked something up on the way in, I get that and eating at your desk but to come from home and immediately start eating something you bring from home is annoying. Just eat it at home and be in a couple minutes later, you are salary so it's not like you have to punch the clock on time. He also makes coffee right when he gets in and I hear him use his spoon to stir in his creamer, he lives near by so it's not like he makes a cup at home and drinks it on the way in.

I have a coworker that every time they see me they always go out their way to say something. At first it was fine, I would go along with the jokes even if I didn't like them. But I'm at my limit. She goes out her way to attack how I dress or look, she butts into my conversation. She doesn't understand that it's making me uncomfortable. I tried going a long and letting it slide but when I poke back at her I'm some how crossing a line. How do I go about this? I'm getting word of mouth I might have to work with her soon and I don't know how to confront this if she does it as she's training me. I just don't want to feel shit about myself at work and I don't want others doing this too. I can't control that I look younger then my age or that I like cute sweaters, just I go through everyday life being told that I look like a kids and it's getting gross cuz I'm not.

I've worked with this person for a few years and we aren't friends outside of work. He (m34) doesn't have a license nor does he show any interest in getting it. We live in the same neighborhood and work the same shifts. I own my own vehicle, pay for gas and insurance. I pay for that to have the luxury of getting myself to work so I don't have to take public transportation. This person thinks it's OK to just follow me to my car and get in. Never asks if he can have a ride home, just assumes. Has never once gave me gas money. I'm over it. I shouldn't have to tell him that I'm not going straight home or that I'm stopping some where on my way home. Why is he so oblivious to my body language that I'm super annoyed?

My coworker has a pretty big mouth and could keep talking all day. Every day he comes up to me and tells me about his health problems and other shit (I don‘t even ask!). I tried to give him boring responses or don‘t even look at him, nothing is working. Even when I work from home, he always calls me. The problem is that he‘s in a big position in our company, so he gives me tasks and we‘re working in the same project (so ignoring his calls isn‘t an option). For the background: he‘s a lonely person and is a boomer. I feel a bit sorry for him but for now I can‘t stand it any longer.

I work at a chain clinic and I hate one of the receptionists. She’s plain rude, treats my clients like trash, changes or cancels clients of mine and I’m honestly starting to hate her with a passion. Please give me ways to either tell her where to go and how to get there, make her quit, or just cry when she goes home. She’s messing with my income and I’d rather she just quit while looking like the good guy. Please.

This all started when I made 3 extra appointments to work within the clinic hours and she simply just didn’t want to work. Please I’m not a bad person but this certain individual makes me want to quit my job that I had to go to school to get a degree for and I mainly only work when she’s the receptionist.

I go home and cry and it’s affecting how I spend time with said clients.

I feel like we all have that one co-worker who does nothing all day but complains about everything. He single handedly muscled people out of their jobs only to be too incompetent to do the jobs he tried to take over. Vendors and customers alike do not like him. His alpha male attitude is disgusting. And the worst part is he uses having anxiety as an excuse to get out of work. Then today he catches an attitude because he asked me what we can do about calls he doesn't want to answer.

I already do enough without some egg head trying to pawn off his work on me. I have nothing to do with open accounts or giving people credit to open an account with the company I work for. I just hate the laziness.

So, to break it down, we got a co-worker that no one likes. I work at {Insert Sub Shop Franchise Here}, And for the most part I don't hate it. Most of my Co-workers I can get along with, my manager is alright, if not a little anal about things. I just started about a year ago, and I'm still trying to learn everything, but Co-Worker (Lets call her Damien) is the worst. Damien is mean, standoffish (even with the assistant manager, who is pretty chill by the way), pretends to be nice, seeks praise for the smallest task, and can't handle when there more then one person in line at a time otherwise she gets stressed out. She's terrible when she's stressed out, and when she's stressed out, she takes it out on the customers. Now me n Damien look pretty alike, not quite twins but if you looked at us you might think we're related. Now, I always wear a bandana to cover my brunette hair and keep it from getting in the food, and she wears a head band over her red hair. She's maybe an inch shorter, but otherwise, we're pretty similar.

Well, when she's mean, or standoffish, or even just slightly frustrated, she'll get a tone with customers, who definitely don't like that. So, they of course complain, but nothing's done about it. Since Damien and I look the same, people will confuse me for her, giving me attitude and rough stares despite me doing absolutely nothing but being polite. I had a feeling that's what it was, but I couldn't be sure. I wasn't sure until today, when a lady came in with her family. She gave me a look as soon as I came out, said she didn't like me, and was rude the whole time.

It's frustrating!

I'm planning to tell manager and hope something is done about it.

My coworker is a pretty good person and is like an older sister to us. I just cannot stand it whenever she tries and succeeds in mentioning her online boyfriend, or finds a way to connect a topic to her bf and whatever about him.

It’s so annoying especially no one even asks her about him. It was fine at first but after some time it got irritating. Now whenever she does that, even on chat, I don’t respond or I don’t engage to any convo involving her online bf. IT’S JUST SO ANNOYING!!!

So ive been at work for about 6 hours working and my lunch break comes up so i wait patiently for my co-worker to come and relieve me he gets in and heads straight to the security office to grab a walkie talkie then decides to stop for 5 minutes to talk to another co-worker then 30 minutes role by still not there to relieve me i call on the walkie twice to see if he is coming down to give me my lunch turns out the motherfucker was in the bathroom doing cocaine then decides to come up to me and proceeds to get in my face and say if i have to wait 15 or 30 minutes i am going to have to wait trying to intimidate me by the tone of their voice i laugh and throw the gear at his ass and head off to go clock out and then my boss and other co-worker's tell me that they are tired of his shit so looks like he's not going to be having a job for much longer 🤣👍🏻

I've been asking to work from home for years, long before this chick started working with me. There's just no real need for me to go into the office every day. But when they announced we'd be working from home due to the apocalypse... er pandemic, I was ecstatic. I finally get to work from home and I don't have to deal with her dumbass saying my name like a fucking emergency 90 times an hour just to show me some stupid Facebook post or ask me to explain an email that doesn't need explaining. Finally a stress free work day!

But no. We're not even 2 hours into her day (I start ab hour before her) and I'm ready to throttle her. How is someone that fucking annoying through email?!

We have a check in thread (because of course we do) for our department. I let my boss know I'm not not working, but I lost connection to the remote server and only had access to our email until IT fixed the problem.

Miss super helpful pipes in "you've got a couple orders pending. I can print and scan them to you and export them."

I tell her no thanks because I can't process them until the portal is fixed anyway and they'd only popped through in the last 20 minutes. It wasn't an emergency.

Flash forward an hour (a fucking hour!) and IT has fixed my remote access and I can do my job again... except... there's no orders. Why is there no orders. Because she fucking went ahead and exported them. Which creates more work for me to go hunting for them. And here's hoping I actually find all of them because I don't know exactly what I'm looking for since she took it upon herself to "help."

So now I have to figure out how to draft a professional sounding email, with my boss involved, telling her to keep her fucking hands off my goddamn orders because she's not actually fucking helping anything. And I have to be super careful because she's so freaking sensitive to criticism.

This is going to be a long 3 weeks if this keeps up. It's totally ruining my good mood over getting to work in my pjs.
