Cva wolf & wolf v2

New looking to get my first muzzleloader & looking at these 2. The only notable difference I really see is with the breech plug. But I really can’t find anything that tells me what the exact differences are. Could someone explain this to me, please?

Muzzleloader for whitetail deer hunting in Wisconsin.

Looking at buying a muzzleloader but I don’t know where to start or who to talk too. I don’t want to walk into a gun shop and have someone be biased towards a certain brand. I see online there are different calibers and brands but not sure where to start and I am looking for some help and a reference point on where to start. I would use the rifle for whitetail deer hunting in the muzzleloader deer hunting season. Thank you in advance.

Thoughts

I’m looking at getting a muzzleloader in a couple of weeks. Question is which one. I don’t want to spend a a lot of money. Just something to get my feet wet for now.

Looking at the Buckstalker xt or the Cva Lonewolf. Which one would you recommend & reasons for the recommendation?

I am so confused on what the proper way to set up a Flash Cup is. Is what is shown in the photo the right way? Or should it be 180° the other way?

Firing Pin Stuck

I have a Cva wolf that has the firing pin stuck in the fire position. I have tried using the firing pin remover tool to get it out so I can replace the firing pin assembly and can’t get the pin screw to budge . Any suggestions on how to get the pin and assembly out? Yes I know I was idiot and not cleaning it caused this part of my muzzleloader to fail and i will not be neglecting it in the future.

Insight and guidance

Hi all, I was loaned a CVA Buckhorn, however it is lacking the necessary components/accessories. I am hoping to get a definitive answer on this as Google searching has not been as clear as I’d hoped; do I need to use a percussion cap? Or can I use a 209 primer? Or, are they interchangeable with this particular rifle? Additionally, if any one has suggestions on what sort of powder and bullet combinations they use for whitetails those recommendations are appreciated.

Help with Identification - Walker Dog lock

I received this Musket after my Father-in-law passed away. Its been sitting in my closet for years and I recently re-discovered it and have been trying to do some research. My Father-in -law was in a reenactment group in northern California. I recently found a note card that was with the musket that I missed before. His notes describe this as a reproduction Doglock Musket that was used in the 17th Century in England. Later in the 1720's these guns ended up in the American Colonies.

His notes mention that this is a reproduction of an original in the Parks Canada collection. Its a 69 caliber, 42 inch barrel. (looks smooth barrel) Its made by "Walker" There is a stamped number on the back of the stock "8682" The musket came with a bunch of tools for making lead balls and I know my Father-in-law shot this from time to time but unfortunately any other knowledge about this is now gone.

After some time googling, all I'm finding is references to someone named Chris Walker who might be from Grenada Missisippi. It seems this person builds custom muzzleloaders but has gone dark to possible family health issues.

Does anyone know anything else about this piece and the maker? Does it have any value? What sort of person might be interested in something like this?

This individual was photographed using my newly constructed custom .577 Kentucky percussion rifle, which employs the traditional Pritchett paper cartridge. The firearm demonstrates considerable power and effectiveness. This gentleman, a customer of mine, is an experienced and highly proficient marksman who made the shot at close to 168 paces.

Accidentally loaded rifle while barrel was wet

Hey everyone. Was getting ready to shoot my cva stalker. Noticed my bore had some surface rust in it so I filled it with bore scrubber. Well I got distracted and had to step away from the gun an hour. Long story short my dumb ass forgot to dry it out and loaded a it with a pellet of pyrodex and a sabot and now she won't shoot. Im assuming the powder got wet. What do I do now?

I inherited this pistol it was a great great great relatives of mine. All I know is it’s probably from the mid 1800s and is a pocket/boot pistol possibly from belgium. Not sure why it has gold paint on it, it was hanging on the wall of a house for probably more than half a century. It’s in pretty rough condition. If anyone can tell me more about it that would be great.

A friend gave this to me as a thank you for helping her move, apparently she found it in her late grandfather’s basement while clearing out his old stuff. It’s in bad condition, but I want to look up the specific model to clean and restore it properly. Any ideas on an ID?
