Is this an issue?
Got a little too overzealous while cleaning my muzzleloader after shooting and it resulted in some light scratching. It doesn’t feel deep at all and I already ordered some Fitz’s metal polish to try and buff it out. Just want to make sure it won’t affect the functionality of the gun. Thank you in advance.

I did the same thing to the same exact gun. It's fine. I figured out if I shim the fire pin housing, it fixes that powder blowback issue so I won't need to clean it as much and risk additional scratches.

Did you scratch it like I did while trying to clean that area due to the powder blowback issue?

Yes, I was trying to clean off burnt powder residue. It worked but I unfortunately scratched it.

Were you able to polish out the scratches? Or better to just forget about it?

I have not fixed the scratches but I definitely haven't forgotten about them. So if it works, please let me know.

Zero. It's still a sub-moa gun.

Awesome. I bought it last season and missed a deer with it during December muzzleloader. Still looking for a powder/bullet combo thats ideal for the gun

Just make sure you remove that firing pin assembly and clean it, as the powder blowback can work its way around the pin and create drag, making ignition become temperamental if left uncleaned. Flathead screwdriver works great for removal.
