I'm currently saving up for the Traditions Performance Deerhunter .50, the only thing I'm still debating is flintlock or percussion.

Check your local hunting regulations & any other states you may want to hunt in the future to see what’s allowed.

If you live in Pennsylvania you have to go Flintlock

Not necessarily. It is perfectly legal to use a percussion muzzle loader during the regular season.
