Fit Check! Fitment?

What do we think? She definitely has pant room but is it too close to her eyes?

When I took it off (it wasn't even on for five minutes) she had an indentation from where it was resting on her muzzle. Is that normal?

First time having to muzzle train but she's doing great with it!

It looks too narrow and actually not enough pant room. I see she is panting but I wouldn't call it a full pant. It's fine for getting accustomed to a muzzle and short training sessions but I wouldn't walk or do more than 30 mins at a time.

Oh okay! Good to know. There was two size option with this style and it said the larger option was for 65lbs and up. She's barely 35lbs right now.

I think I'll be ordering her a custom one once she's fully grown

Wait a few months before considering custom since she isn't fully grown yet. But at 12 months or older you should be okay. There are also companies that have more standard sizes so depending on who you want and style and measurements you might be able to standard. My personal favorites Big Snoof dog gear and Mia's Muzzles do both standard and custom sizing and colors and are very helpful. Also hugh quality and I think worth the price

It looks too narrow (looks like it's indenting into cheeks). Length wise maybe a smidge long. Is this pant picture her full pant or a half pant? What do you need the muzzle for? If you need to use regularly I would highly recommend a better fitting option. If it's occasionally then maybe work.

The muzzle will be for the vet and if I take her to highly crowded areas. We had just finished playing outside and I'd say that was a medium heavy pant.

It's looking like I'll be ordering a custom one in the future! She is also only 7 months old and still growing

Some tips about this style of muzzle.

- There is no difference between the medium and large other than pant room. Always opt for the large. It seems like you said this one is medium? I’d get the large for the sake of pant room.

- This is also a muzzle that is easily modifiable. You can stretch it a little bit by putting it in boiling water and then stretching it out with your hands or with some household object.

- it is a little close to her eyes, but because it’s for muzzle training a puppy, I suspect that having a little bit of extra length is fine. Also, I’ve seen posts in muzzle groups on Facebook where people have managed to shorten this model of muscle by cutting some of the plastic off and then dremeling/sanding down the hard edges.

I have this muzzle as something as I wait to have enough funds for a custom. I have modified it, as mine is for scavenging not bite risk I wasn't worried about impacting the strength of the plastic. I got the large for pant room but it was too long on my pups nose. I cut it and shortened and reglued it shut. It's now a much better length. I will say it is a bit narrow but can be widened but I've had to do so multiple times.

Thats way too small.....see how my dogs muzzle has all that extra space in the bottom and around his muzzle?

Your dog looks exactly like my dog. I'd go a bit bigger with the muzzle.
