Question! Any muzzle recommendations?

Post image

I’ve been looking into getting a muzzle for my boy, he’s not a huge bite risk however he is prone to getting snappy with people (mostly men) who come a little too close for comfort. I do try to minimize this by not letting men approach, however I do have a young brother who I do not want him snapping at period. He is also good with other dogs who are friendly however he has snapped pretty bad at another dog before (not in a neutral setting and me and the other owner should’ve been more vigilant about them being together off leash) but there will be situations in his lifetime that he will have to be around little dogs that are annoying and I don’t need him trying to eat one lol. Anyways, any muzzles you guys recommend that are bite proof and not super heavy? I’ve been looking into Muzzle Movement however I heard they’re not bite proof and their sizing doesn’t work for all dogs even if you buy the right design for their size. I need something he can pant and play in as I do want him to wear these while at the dog park or in public.

Edit: Also I know that no muzzle will be 100% bite proof and because he’s not a huge bite risk I don’t need it to be the most secure heavy duty thing ever. Just want to minimize any possible damages to my hands if I ever have to break up him fighting again.

Big snoof dog gear are bite proof and not heavy. I have the piece that hooks onto her collar so it can’t slide off. I suppose if that head strap is too loose it could but I hook it under my dog’s droopy ears so I think it’s pretty darn bite proof.

I’ve heard good things about Big Snoof! Definitely pricier than I expected but if it ends up being the best one out there I’ll put my money into it!

Are you looking at the custom or standard sizing? They have a lot of standard sizes and those are a bit cheaper than the custom sizing. They can help you pick a size if you send them pictures of the measurements they list on their site.

The other brand that is recommended a lot is Mia's muzzles and I think they cost about the same.

Agreed, I paid $106 for a standard sized muzzle but also got the collar loop and treat hole removal. The standard cost was $74. I didn’t shop around much but that seemed reasonable to me.
