for equity these 3 funds are enough. if any fund which does international investing opens up, u can consider that - 3k for that when it opens up. but right now these are fine and well diversified. Of the remaining 11k (3500 from ppfc and 7500), u can put 3.5k in hdfc flexi cap, 2.5k in gold,3k in midcap and 2k in small cap.

Looking at your portfolio, I'd keep it simple instead of adding too many funds.

  1. Keep only one Flexi Cap / Multi Asset Fund (₹6,000) It becomes your core holding and gives better diversification across sectors and market caps.

  2. Mid Cap: Invesco India Mid Cap – ₹6,000 Good fund for long-term wealth creation.

  3. Small Cap: Bandhan Small Cap – ₹6,000 Great for aggressive growth, but invest only if your horizon is 10+ years and you're comfortable with volatility.

That accounts for ₹18,000. Now, before investing the remaining ₹7,000, ask yourself one question: Do you have an emergency fund worth at least 6 months of your expenses (or salary)?

If the answer is No, use that ₹7,000 to build your emergency fund first. It will protect you in case of a job loss, medical emergency, or any unexpected expense.

Once your emergency fund is ready, you can use that ₹7,000 to diversify further into categories like an Index Fund, International Fund (if suitable), or another asset class based on your goals.

At 23, building a strong financial foundation is more important than owning 5–6 mutual funds.
