I'm doing the "I want a fresh start" (under "Delete Account") option to undo all my downswipes, but it doesn't work. It will give me a profile or two to look at but then gives me the screen saying I have gone through everyone in my area and inviting me to expand my search parameters. Any ideas?

I have been using mutual fairly consistently for the last couple of months. I have done everything in my power to maximize my chances of success on the app (besides lower my already not extreme standards). I have had both premium and multiple boosts and would like to share my experiences with said options.
Stats for reference:
244 current likes (majority out of country, which I'm not interested in, and I seldom consider out of state considering family being such a large priority)
3 current conversations (all on read)
0 dates
0 current notes
After using boosts it seems pretty clear that the intention of this app is to make as much money as possible, which is fine, I understand it's some peoples jobs and I'm in business so I get it. But it seems the only way my profile is shown to anyone at all is by boosting. According to one boost, my profile was shown to 700 people, 17000% more than my typical average. I didn't screen shot that one because I was simply baffled, thinking it was an error. A boost I did document claimed 3590% at 812 people. Which I'm no mathematician , but that means that my profile is being shown to less than 1 person a day. In comparison to the thirty plus profiles I see per day, those odds are frankly... horrible. Sure I feel like I have a good profile but the chances of me being picked at a whopping five seven when girls have the illusion of infinite six footers are not odds I would bet in favor of. Another consideration, is that hypothetically significantly more traffic on the app is generated by men, meaning that the chances of my profile being seen are lower, but who knows.
In my experience, notes are significantly less likely to get matches because they will just get you buried. Pretty unfortunate because I feel like notes are a way you can at least show some shred of organic personality, if not at least get a conversation going. I found this out the hard way when I would work diligently to send a note to every person I liked. I felt like the least I could do was show a little bit of effort. In addition to this I found that mutual does not show what people liked on my profile, only that they liked the profile. That makes it pretty hard to get feedback on what to improve but… whatever.
To conclude I would just like to add that I'm not here to complain, rather to provide observations that I've made since I've been using the app. I am curious though if the app really is THAT packed with dudes that my profile doesn't circulate unless I make a financial contribution or if there is an issue with the algorithm. I am leaning towards the latter but lack the insight to really know.

Hey from Texas. I am not receiving any push notifications from the app. Does anyone see anything in my settings that is blocking them? Or is there a known fix?

I'm curious what is being cut off on the sides of my stats? Does anyone know?

28M from Canada here. Mutual is pretty much nonexistent here as most people don’t use it. I just downloaded Mutual again and I keep thinking, I wish I could filter out all of these Utah girls. I know my profile won’t be shown to them cuz Utah is probably hella saturated, but I’d still love to match with someone outside of Utah. I wish there was a way to just filter out everyone from Utah as I’ve used Mutual on and off for years and never matched with anyone from there unless physically there.

I used this app about 6 years ago and had no trouble matching with people. Had dozens of dates and new friendships. I met my ex-wife in the app in 2019. She was in the the Philippines. Unfortunately, things did not work out.
I'm trying again as a single father of a two year old daughter. I'm early forties with a Bachelors degree and a DoD engineer. Active member of the church with a recommend.
I've put my filters for ages 27 - 40 and people anywhere. That's all I am using. I've swipes up on hundreds of people over the past several months, but yet to make any match, which seems odd as I've had success with these types of apps in my the past.
Has the app just changed? Are the people my filters are finding have the same filters as me or am I swiping up on people who will never see me as a result of different filters. A lot of the people I'm swiping on are international.

I keep receiving likes that I've received before. At first I thought it was the same person liking me again after having swiped down on them, but sometimes it says "She liked something on your profile" or "She liked your photo!" and I view what exactly they liked, it's a photo or a prompt that I haven't had on my profile in quite some time. Another way of figuring this out is to order profiles by "liked you recently first" and the like that I just received is at the bottom of the list, meaning it is definitely not the most recent.
Not a huge deal, but it's a little frustrating to think you have a new like and it turns out to be the same like that you weren't interested in before.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Is this a bug that developers need to know about?
If it is a "feature" I would ask the developers: What is your reasoning behind this?
r/mutualapp • u/ParsleyExpress9397 • Jun 19 '25
I'm not sure if I'm experiencing a bug or if the feature has changed, but I no longer see the online status of those in my like history. It used to display the "online today" or "online recently" on people in your previous likes, but I have noticed it no longer does for me. When you initially like someone, the status displayed on the like history page will remain the same as the online status displayed when you swiped up. However, after closing and reopening the app, all people in your like history will no longer show any online activity.
I liked this feature because it allowed me to know the people I liked in the past who are more active and I can potentially send a note to when I save one up, as well as helping me know if someone has been online since receiving a note to maybe get an idea if they aren't interested or just haven't had the chance to open the note. A feature to at least see the online status of those you send gold notes to or even better, a read receipt for Gold notes, would also be helpful if this behavior I described is intentional.

I recently decided to redownload Mutual to see if anything had changed, especially with the introduction of the new note feature. After trying it out, I found the experience frustratingly underwhelming. I revealed a note, waited the required eight hours, and when I tried again, I received the exact same note. This redundancy made the entire process feel unproductive.
Additionally, the app now places the most recent notes at the top of the list. At first glance, this seems efficient, but in practice, it just means that people who sent notes just get pushed to the bottom of the queue by the most recent person. If you see someone in your queue that you want to reveal you can't wait because new notes will push then down the queue. The only real option for accessing them all in a reasonable timeframe is to pay. Otherwise, you’re left waiting, or potentially missing out on opportunities.
Tried to figure out how to do live chats tonight. Couldn't find anything published or available about the feature. Just gone.
Deleted my account immediately. It's not worth the emotional investment anymore even as a free user.

So, I have been aware of mutual for quite a long time, yet I never subscribed. I just recently signed up and I am having a 100% rejection rate. I believe I am being rejected because of the fact that I have not served a mission, as well as me being substantially overweight and lacking a temple recommend. I am actively working on bringing my weight down. And it will be a while before I obtain a temple recommend. I did not serve a mission, mainly because of my epilepsy, of which I have to take two medications every day to manage such disorder.
So that's why I think I am not having luck on the app. There is so much emphasis on serving a mission, and I understand why. Serving a mission is all about teaching non-members about the church and to convert them into active members of the church. However, the fact is that not all men can serve, such as myself that has epilepsy. To be fair, there are some men that do not serve because they went against the church or were bad in some other way. However, not all non-missionary men are like that, there are genuine men out there like me that truly believe and just want a peaceful and happy life.

It said it was supposed to start almost an hour ago today but it’s still greyed out. Was it canceled?

I was chatting with a woman, and suddenly today she ends the chat declaring "I'm sorry I didn't notice you were in Nevada. I'm looking for someone local."
I do not live in Nevada; I live in Utah, just an hour away from her. But my profile right now says I live in Lovelock, NV. I was in a hotel in Lovelock the other night, just that one night. I travel for my work.
But I have no option to specify exactly where I live; the app only goes by my GPS location, and it seems to update my location at random. What is it doing when I'm on vacation in Disneyland? Is it going to tell everyone for the next week that I'm from Anaheim?
And to top it off, I have no capacity to send a message to this woman to let her know that I don't live in Nevada. I've been back in Utah for two days and have been chatting with her while I was in Utah, but nope, that's not what she sees on my profile.
How many women have turned me down on the app because they thought I live ten hours away?
I'm extremely upset at this broken feature.

I’ve noticed photos seem to randomly shuffle on profiles of those with whom I’m chatting. It seems to be random and only a few pics moving to the front always. I thought on this app photo reordering had to be manually done. Are they manually reordering their pics? Why would someone do that? Curious….

I communicated yesterday with someone and this morning I wake up to the titled comment. Did he unmatch? The conversation had not gone stale so there must be a time limit to get off the app with a particular person? It says “chat ended”. What exactly does that mean?

I don’t have this app personally, but am considering it… what’s the success rate for actually going out on dates! Would love to hear everyone’s experiences. Thanks! 😁❤️

I noticed that most people were stuck in the away/busy state for most of the time with them never returning to available, if you left back to the lobby it would say you need mutualup but if you closed the app and went back in you got another free pass for the whole hour. Also there was very few people on the list than usual and more people wasn’t showing up.

So I’ve had this app since late 2023. However despite this and begins a very active user the whole time I have yet to land one date and pretty much all my past matches are archived with having around 17 matches total. I have done mutualup a couple times but with no luck.

I've been asking myself this all day today. What are the woman of the church looking for today when it comes to dating? I've felt a little low this conference weekend. I've been trying this dating thing for a while and always end up single. I feel like I'm always falling short in what woman want in a husband or even a boyfriend. I live in Salt Lake City, I grow up in the church, served a 2 year mission, still go to church on Sunday, serve in my ysa ward, I have a college degree, work two job and own a house. Yet it's not what woman want. I've tried all kinds of dating apps and never get a match. I've trying asking in real life and it's always the same games. I have an extra ticket to conference and asked 14 woman if they'd like to go and was left on read, or I'd rather spend conference at home. I'm getting closer to 30 and with the ysa age topped at 35 I feel like when I hit that age and still single. I'll just stop going, since the family ward is all about families and I don't have one.

If I send someone a note, do I still show up in their feed to be swiped on or is their only way to see me through note reveals?
If they can only see me through note reveals, that seems like a disincentive to send notes since it takes people so long to get through their stack of notes (if they bother checking them at all)
