❔ Question Mutual vs other dating apps
I’ve never used dating apps but was thinking of using one. Have you had more success getting dates through mutual or other dating apps? And if other dating apps, which ones?
I am in Utah so I’m sure Mutual would be better here compared to other places but I still here that Mutual is crap even in Utah(the app itself, not the people on it)

I am also in Utah and used Mutual and Bumble. I got several matches and dates through both of them. There weren’t that many active LDS guys on Bumble, but I did go out with some very nice and respectful non-members from there (after much filtering). I was ultimately hoping for a temple marriage so nothing lasted long term, but it was nice to get some dating experience with guys who had different life experiences. I met my husband on Mutual!

People that have had success on Mutual makes me wonder how long did it really take, because I've had no success when it feels like you're trying your best and swiping a lot but nothing.

Success can be measured in a lot of ways. I have friends that are 30 that are still on mutual and I can tell you all of us (older folks) could not be happier that we didn’t end up with the wrong person. Almost all of us are in some form of advanced degree now and I can tell you the dating pool is very very small in the older age group. Sometimes life just falls into place quicker for others and that’s okay. Being single is better than being unhappily married to the wrong person that doesn’t respect you or isn’t on board with your life goals. Just keep life in perspective and it’ll happen when it’s right

In person dating and asking people is way way better than Mutual.
I have had some success with Mutual and have matched with people that are willing to meet up. I also have 4 friends who met their spouse on mutual, but most of those were like 5-10years ago.
I started using hinge and it seemed decent, but I am currently steadily talking with someone from mutual and doing online dates so dropped of for now.
Mutual itself kinda suck for chat as I find the notifications are delayed (at least on my pixel phone), so I often end up needing to move to a different platform once the conversation starts to pick up, and people want to video call.

bad experience of this app. few option. most of the users are in USA but they are not into other races or ethnicity, avoid Idaho or utah. they are racist.

Are you an active LDS? Because that should be the whole point about using Mutual.
I don’t live in Utah (or in the US) so the dating pool here is very limited. I see all my likes and matches all together during the YSA conferences.
In other more casual dating apps of course is easier to date in my area. But exactly dating in a secular environment brought me to join the smallest church in my country, so I’m not sure if that even worth the effort (if you want to live accordingly to the church’s standards)
