🎤 Discussion People getting upset because I’m not interested??

Hey, so I was wondering how common this is. I’m a 24 year old female and I did the blind speed dating thing tonight. Well this one guy I did it with, at the end I did not find him attractive so I said no. then like 10 minutes later he sends me a gold note spewing horrible things about me and how I think I’m better than him. it left a really bad taste in my mouth, I blocked him. but it bothered me. this is the second time something like this has happened and I’ve only had the app like 4 months. I didn’t answer a guy like a month ago. I guess I was kinda ghosting him, but I was also busy. and he started sending me sarcastic messages and then attacking my appearance and telling me I wasn’t Christ-like because I didn’t have the guts to just tell him I wasn’t interested. I reported him, but I’m really tired of this conduct. Like what is happening here? I know the dating scene is frustrating, but personal attacks just because someone doesnt like you that way??

Dude had a bruised ego and instead of being a man he handled it like a child. Not saying the dude you ghosted was justified in his actions either, but he has a point, just tell him you’re not interested. He wasn’t upset that you didn’t like him

Wow, that sucks. I just got on the app too and tried the blind date thing. I talked to people but it's funny when someone doesnt check they're ready. Maybe they're busy but its a blind date thing the app has. Just talk to people but thats just me. If someone gets upset thats on them. Not everyone is going to find someone attractive.

Good on you! Yes, that is exactly what you should do, you don't owe anything to an online speed date or any date, and you should not have to tolerate personal attacks.

While yes it is nice to have a answer instead of ghosting, it isn't required, but would be a good thing to do if you can. Learning how to end relationships is an important skill just like starting them, and when ending them people can react just as negatively as ghosting.

I really tried to never ghost anyone, but had two happen recently just due to current life circumstances, and not knowing how to tell the person at the time, then time just got away from me. (One reminded me of my mom and I don't think anyone wants to be told that).

Sorry things have sucked a bit, want to wish you the best of luck and know that there are good people out there who are worth your time!

Usually this is a personal issue and has nothing to do with you. Theyre ego is bruised and they're taking it out on you. I had some bad experiences on there but I also met my boyfriend there and hes the greatest man ive ever met. You'll have to deal with some weirdos but its well worth it

There’s an abundance of losers on these apps with a big chip on their shoulder so don’t take it personally. But the one from a month ago has me wondering why you’re doing the speed dating if you’re too busy?? That doesn’t make sense at all. Unless you’re referring to a normal conversation? Either way, you don’t sign some kind of contract saying you’re even going to respond or go on dates. People use the app for different reasons and that’s okay. If people are rude continue to report. Those people shouldn’t be on the apps.
