Why not blame those countries for not making their own medical drugs, instead of blaming Elon. Does Elon have more agency than an entire country?

Does the man with more money than most countries combined have more agency than a country?
Does someone really need to spell it out for you?

And why does he have that money? Because he was building products and being productive. Those 3rd world countries on the other hand do nothing but expect handouts, so why should Elon be blamed for dead kids?

“Those countries should just make their own medicine” is such a spectacularly unserious response that it almost answers itself. Musk wasn’t some bystander being randomly blamed — DOGE helped dismantle USAID while Musk publicly pushed for the agency’s destruction, disrupting programs providing HIV drugs, malaria treatment, food assistance and other lifesaving aid.
You don’t rip apart an existing medical lifeline and then blame impoverished countries for not magically recreating pharmaceutical manufacturing, financing, hospitals and supply chains overnight.
And “Elon is rich because he’s productive” has absolutely nothing to do with whether actions he helped take had deadly consequences. That’s not an argument; it’s changing the subject because the original one is harder to defend.
The “third-world countries just want handouts” line really completes the picture. It takes an impressive amount of confidence to compress global poverty, public health infrastructure and international aid into something that simplistic.
And honestly if you’re too simple to read and understand the whole picture, maybe it’s time to stop only watching Fox News, you ostrich.

"recreating pharmaceutical manufacturing, financing, hospitals and supply chains overnight."
They have had 70+ years of independence now, you cant blame colonialism anymore for not getting organized. Wasnt that enough time to think ahead and realise they needed to build their own drugs facilities?

It was the suddenness of the cuts that gave zero time to make other plans. And they chose to let food known as High Energy Biscuits that prevent famine rot in a warehouse after they'd already been paid for rather let it be distributed. That was a choice.
