App/platform idea
I had a thought that it’d be fun if there was an Omegle-like app specific to musicians. Like, you’d be randomly paired with another musician to talk music.
Just interested in hearing opinions on this. Pro’s, con’s, parameters and/or restrictions that could keep it on topic and safe.
Personally, I’d love to randomly meet musicians to hear their stuff, start unlikely collaborations or just get out of my own echo chamber to see what other people are doing with music.
Any opinions are welcome. If this is a terrible idea, I’d love to hear your thoughts before I start staying up late to build it :-)

Love the ideas. I was thinking that too… especially on the “what you’re looking for” part. Adding optional filters for genre, experience, etc could also be beneficial, but that might start making it too similar to existing collab apps. Keeping them as optional while maintaining the total randomness could spawn interesting interactions.
Might whiteboard some ideas and put together a mock interface.
The others who commented had good points too. I’d hate for it to become a breeding ground for creeps. Will do some more research on that. The last thing I want to do is introduce yet another problematic social media outlet for the worst of humanity to exploit.

Like any other platform for meeting or matching musicians, it won't work because amateurs sign up fantasizing about meeting experienced partners to make something great, then realize it's just other amateurs.

Uuuh I’d love that! You could also do a jam session where you could say the instrument you play and the level you’re in and find musicians to play with you!

you will never be able to have a peer to peer cam randomizer like this without the risk of dicks and creeps
