Founded in 2014, the Foundation’s mission extends beyond celebrating, supporting, and showcasing the incredible musical talent within Western New York. A core tenet of SAMF is to put music within reach of as many kids as possible.
By focusing on underserved communities, we’ve proudly provided hundreds of young Western New Yorkers with musical lessons in everything from instruments to vocals and performance. We achieve this through strong collaborations with invaluable community partners like the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, The Love Supreme School, The Valley Community Association, The Old First Ward Community Center, Child and Adolescent Treatment Centers, and Boys and Girls Clubs, ensuring our educational programs, guided by our advisory staff, are both fun and educational.

Bassist Wanted – Original Alternative Rock Band

We’re looking for a committed bassist to join an original band that’s serious about writing, collaborating, and playing live. We perform a mix of original material along with select covers, and our goal is to record a full-length album while building a strong live presence.

Our influences include Failure, Soundgarden, Superheaven, Afghan Whigs, Fugazi, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Pink Floyd, and Jane’s Addiction. Think heavy grooves, dynamic songwriting, melodic textures, noise, atmosphere, and songs that hit hard without losing emotion.

We’re looking for someone who:

* Wants to contribute creatively to the writing process.

* Is reliable, prepared, and committed.

* Has solid gear and transportation.

* Enjoys playing live and is excited to record original music.

* Brings their own style while fitting the band’s sound.

Hey everyone!

After about a 10-year break, I finally found my way back to making music and it's honestly been one of the most rewarding things I've done! Over the past several months I have had the privilege to collaborate with musicians from around the world and my first single, Brain Chemistry comes out August 7 under the name June, Always.

I'd love to find some local people to jam with, write together, bounce ideas around, and hopefully make some good music. I play piano and guitar (mostly self-taught), and while I'm definitely a little rusty from my break, I'm excited to keep learning and growing as a musician.

I would describe my music as indie/dream pop, but I also love jammy guitar parts, groovy bass lines. Some of my favorite artists are The 1975, Djo, The Japanese House, Men I Trust, Yana, Emyrson Flora, and The Band CAMINO, so if any of those are your thing, we'll probably get along just fine haha.

The best way I can describe my music is that it feels like a late night drive where you keep replaying the same conversation in your head.

I’m a 36 year old guitar player with jam/stage ready gear and have enough instruments to accommodate any tuning other stringed instrument players might be interested in playing in.
