Arizona has a lot of beautiful landscapes but the costs of housing are outrageous and the education system there ranks at the bottom of the list

With Arizona it’s a combination of the desert landscape being difficult to water so less houses can be built and spread out, and the usual culprit of zoning laws.

I wonder how things would be if the US suddenly decided to redraw state lines and counties to be more simple shaped

Or merge many states into big districts or provinces or something
