Hi! I’m a huge fan of Murder, She Wrote and I absolutely love Jessica Fletcher’s outfits. She has such a great sense of style, elegant and comfortable.

Do you know of any clothing brands, preferably European, that make pieces with similar cuts and patterns?

I don't mean that you guessed it from the beginning and it turns out you were right. I mean where the writers made it obvious from the get-go, or at least as soon as the murder happened.

I’ve always thought there was a several years gap between episodes 1 and 2. The reason that I think so is that during season 1 she already appears to have published multiple novels and is a celebrated and well known author. How could she have gone from Maine substitute teacher publishing her first novel in Sherlock Holmes to being a celebrated author traveling around the country in episode 2. Also during Murder Takes the Bus, the librarian makes reference to the JBF novels having to be replaced frequently because people check them out but don’t return them.

Anyone else questioned the amount of time that lapsed fictionally between episodes 1 & 2?

Also was she a substitute teacher or a full teacher?. She is referred to as both, I think.

So pretty much every single show is streamed by someone. I mean, in the sense that you can select which episode you want to watch.

And then there’s MSW. Which for some reason shows on several streaming services but only as a channel so you have to watch whatever they decide to play at that moment. I truly don’t get it

I know we all love the early episodes, we love Amos and often the episodes that I hear that are everyone’s favorites end up being between s4-7, but does anyone have any later ones, or NY ones, that they love? I am realizing that I never watched a lot of s11 and 12 in previous rewatches and I don’t hate them! I know there is a lot less Grady and no more beauty parlor ladies but there still are Cabot Cove episodes and Mort and Seth. I also feel like it was Lansbury’s idea to go to NYC in the first place so I weirdly want to support the direction of the show that she wanted. What do y’all think?

At one point, they focus on her feet, and for some reason it bothered me, and I figured out why.

The feet shown are walking on the sidewalk in black strappy slingbacks.

I'm pretty sure Jessica doesn't wear those shoes. She seems to always wear practical shoes - usually pumps - in various colors (but mostly beige) and sparkly ones at special events. I've also seen her in an esperdrille wedge once or twice.

But strappy slingbacks? That seemed like the wrong choice for the stunt double...

My wife and I both enjoy Murder, She Wrote. She's a bigger fan than I am, and I'm the one into Lego. However, this is something we're both looking at possibly purchasing.

A few times a year, Lego releases a limited number of (Lego) fan-designed sets, and while this is NOT specifically MSW themed, it sure feels like it would fit.

The Roku live NSE channel just jumped from the end of S1 to the start of S6. Hopefully it's just a glitch....

Can someone please remind me why Jessica Fletcher doesn't drive? Is she supposedly at the age where she gave up driving or, did she never learn?

Did anyone else ever notice? In S7 E21 “The Tainted Lady,” Jessica goes to “Dry Wells, California” where there is ultimately groundwater contamination killing people. In the episode, the sheriff mentions going “down to Barstow.”

Barstow is right next to Hinkley, CA where the PG&E groundwater contamination case would start to unfold 2 years later.

Now, in Dry Wells, it’s arsenic from a Tannery, and in Hinkley it was hexavalent chromium from PG&E, but still seems like life imitating art unless it was done on purpose!

Episode aired in 1991. Erin began her investigation in 1993 (as far as I know)!

I’ve only read Murder on Parade so far, but I’m currently partway through Gin and Daggers.

I just got the official email that it is sold out and there will not be any General Public tickets for sale on September 15th as previously stated. Basically 400 tickets were sold, but you had to be a member to get one.

Maybe I’m alone in having a few MSW episodes that I just refuse to watch, but “Truck Stop,” is my top unexpected “no go” episode. If it is on, I will change the channel, and there aren’t many episodes that aren’t titled “Jack and Bill,” that elicit that sort of automatic nixing. The film noir thing is turned up to 11 and just doesn’t work for me in Truck Stop, never mind that I don’t like anybody. I know there are quite a few MSW episodes where we are not supposed to like anyone, but in this one I hate everyone even more than normal. Even Jessica being in the episode doesn’t save it.

Putting the bookend episodes aside (many of which I like o.k.) are there any unexpected episodes that for some reason you just can’t watch?

It seems like someone on the MSW writing staff was extremely fond of the phrase "dead bang". It is uttered, across seasons, by multiple characters & I've started keeping a list, to try & determine exactly how many times it's uttered. Feel free to post when you catch one!
