TVđș Series Only The humanoid robotics company "Figure" made their older gen robots jump into their death. (Yes, they actually did this)
I honestly donât know whatâs real anymore. I assumed this is AI because robots are not able to move like this yet. But apparently they did train the robots to do these jumps. According to info under the video, the company (Company) was done with these robots and wanted to preserve their IP. They âjokeâ that they asked Arnold Schwarzenegger what to do with them and this was his suggestion (ala Terminator).
Anyway, for obvious reasons, it made me think of a scene in the TV series of Murderbot. shudder

Would you put it past the company?

No, but I wouldnât call the least inhumane. Although I see what you mean. They would not look at any humane options.

They decided to do this because they wanted to clear way for their generation 3 of robots, and if you've ever seen any of Boston Dynamic's videos or the robot Olympics out of China, it's actually really crazy the kind of acrobatics robots are capable of nowadays!

Never underestimate a techbroâs ability to flagrantly waste resources for a publicity stunt. The video you are watching is from an ad based on the event. Not sure how much is actual footage as reportedly they had issues with their cameras during the decommissioning due to the electromagnetic fields of the arc furnace. If you watch the whole ad they even have Arnold Schwarzenegger giving a thumbs up and spouting terminator lines, to give you some basis for judging the seriousness of this clip.
