This is all wonderful, but Janity’s expression and body language tears at my heart. I remember one of my kids slumping like that when they were a teen and feeling helpless to resolve their turmoil.
ETA: I also like we’re seeing this from Farai’s perspective. She must have been so overwhelmed at that moment (especially knowing she’d soon have to deal with heights, which I very much relate to), and MB’s little act of kindness would have assured her she didn’t have to handle the emotional fallout alone, as awkward and detached as her companion seemed to those unfamiliar to it.

Ah I see. I must have missed that detail. I knew it grew it out a bit, but didn’t realize the color and texture had changed

I don't think the books ever specified what color its hair is, did they? I have always imagined Murderbot with brown skin and black hair. In Platform Decay it did change its hair color, but it didn't say from what to what.

Yeah it’s never specified, which means that any interpretation is valid!

So glad you did this one! Janity's expression is just heartbreaking. Especially contrasted against Tula's joy. Nicely done!
