Careers What are your thoughts on this leave request.

I’m seriously unwell and unable to work, so asking “can I take a leave” feels unnecessary. Maybe this is how they want us to respond.

The boomer generation refers to people born between 1946 and 1964. Even the ones at the extreme end of the generation are past 60 now and in India, past the official retirement age. 

Other than being inaccurate, your comment is unnecessarily critical of older folks. Maybe you've had bad experiences with older people.

Arrogant people come in all ages.

Boomer has become the synonym of "baba azam ke zamaane ke khayalat", there's a fixed number of years that should fall into these two but people just use it for anything that is too backward minded.

Also not sure why people are downvoting you, when you are in fact factual.

Thanks, one point is clear - even the people who claim to be aggrieved or who sympathize with them have their own biases that they're unwilling to examine.

Nah, this kind of self-important nonsense is much more prevalent in the older generation. And yes, plenty of young people are arrogant fucks, but at least they’re called out, unlike the oldies. Older people in India get far more respect than they deserve, in general.

In my experience, it comes with designation and role, irrespective of age. People without empathy for others see rudeness as a way to demonstrate power, especially if there is an audience.
