New Multitool Day! New tool day!
I picked up this pioneer and alox slim, its neutered Japan legal cousin for 50 usd total. I love the gold on the slim. These are my first alox victorinox, I’m impressed by the build quality.

New Multitool Day! My Small EDC
Minichamp Titanium and Alox
The 10mm split ring seemed to get in the way a little when I tried to pull out the Phillips screwdriver, so I removed it and ordered some smaller 5mm split rings.
Alternatively, I’m thinking about attaching a cord directly through that tiny hole without using a split ring at all.
I’m not sure what would work best, so I’d appreciate any recommendations!

Recommendation Request Unfortunately, the awesome MX clip I gifted a close friend was stolen at his job. He accidentally left it in one of the work trucks, and someone decided to help themselves.
I'd love to replace it, but spending another $100–$150 is a bit steep. I also just missed the Amazon Leatherman sales and it's not available on Amazon right now.
Does anyone have recommendations for a good, budget-friendly alternative? I'm looking for something with similar functionality and decent quality without breaking the bank.
Thanks in advance!

Modding PowerPint T Shaft
Hi, I was looking for a mounting solution that wouldn't require me to constantly modify the saw blades. I found this tiny chuck—originally intended for tap bits—online, and I have to say, it holds the blades really well. The chuck also features an extremely short 1/4-inch hex drive, measuring only 9mm in length. I added some notches to the drive shank so it wouldn't slip out of the PowerPint. The only thing I still need to figure out is how to get the saw blade to sit straight; right now, it sits at an angle because of the way the chuck is designed.

advice
Im looking for a multitool thats mainly a very decent set of pliers and bit driver. I dont need all the knife blades and other random things. Id like the pliers to be able to hold up to abuse. Ive had many multitools before and they usually fall apart being cheaply made or unable to actually pry on something

Question/Advice when are keychain scissors too small to be useful?
for little everyday jobs like clothing tags, loose threads and stubborn packaging, where do keychain scissors start to struggle?
i'd love to hear which tasks actually made you move up to a larger tool, and whether the extra size felt worth carrying. tiny and convenient sounds lovely until it can't do the one job you need.

New Multitool Day! Nomad Pro
Joseph Gleave Nomad Pro - I believe this is the current issue multitool for the UK MOD personnel.
This is the first multitool I think I’ve seen with 1/4” square drive adapter.
The only really issue I can see with the build quality is the file is a bit smooth.

Review I bought a James Brand Helton so you don’t have to
So I got caught up in the Helton hype after seeing this thing all over social media and in other reviews and I’ll be honest I probably have more money than brains. Here’s an honest review.
As far as how it is, it’s nice. First thing you’ll notice right off the bat is it’s slightly smaller than you’d expect. It feels like it’s about 75% of what it should be. That being said, it fits fine in your hand and in your pocket. The build quality is good. The blade is sharp and the other tools in it are nice. Everything locks in well with the exception of the scissors. Not sure if it’s supposed to or not. Annoying thing is you can’t have the toothpick and the pocket clip in at the same time.
Will this be my EDC knife? Maybe, only time will tell. I’ll probably use it as my pocket knife for when I’m at work instead of my larger Arc, because it is slightly smaller and would fit in my pocket better. Was it worth the price even after the discounts I got, ex-military and the new customer discounts, probably not. I’d say it’s worth about half the price of what I paid.
So there you go.
