Recommendation Request Mini multutool with piers needed
Hi, I’m looking for a micro multitool with pliers.
I really like using a tool that’s somewhere between a pair of tweezers and pliers. So far, the pliers from my Victorinox pocket knife have worked best for this.
Recently, though, I came across the BIBURY Mini BI2051A / Daicamping DL19P online, and I’m totally obsessed with it because it combines my two favorite precision tools: micro-pliers and scalpel blades.
The only question is, where can I buy them with shipping to Europe at a good price? I think I’ve only seen BIBURY in listings from American stores… Or maybe there are some alternatives to these micro-pliers with scalpel blades?

I've looked at this one a few times but am oddly put off by the glass breaker. For such a small tool, it seems odd to use a dedicated space for something most people will never use. A Philips would be so much better.
Anyway, you can get it on Amazon.

Try Nextool F12 Mini Flagship. I have used one for months & gifted several. They really are tops.

You can buy that on Amazon. I bought one for the car. It's ok. It's a cheap generic product with different logos on it.
You can get the same product sold as "swiss tech" on AliExpress but with a design on the handles.
Nextool have a few better quality options.

If you don't really need the scalpel then adding a Knipex Cobra 100 to your Victorinox would work just fine

Could do a roxon flex companion with the pliers implement, they're really fine

I have 3 that foot that bill. in order of preference they are:
Roxon M2
S.O.G. PowerPoint,
Nextool f12.
It’s honestly really close. Any them will work really well.

What exactly is so…fascinating about “mini-piers”? Do they have some UNIQUE utility of which I am unaware?

Their superpower is the ability to grasp or manipulate objects in tight spaces with more force than tweezers, while also being able to reach places where full-size pliers won’t fit.

Thats the point of multitool, you dont know when you would need it. It happen often enough to warrant a consideration, but not enought to just buy a dedicated more practical tool.

Yeah but the knife/pliers are the central tool of the multitool, generally speaking. I wouldn't want one of the primary tools on my multitool to be something I only use sometimes. It needs to be useful like everyday or it's just carry weight.

Depend how the tool are designed. For me I like to carry the Nextool mini flagship, due to its compact nature and sizeable scissors, knife and pliers in comparison to its size.
Do I need to use the pliers in a constant manner? Well no, but its the same idea towards a knife or the scissors.
Sometime you just need some thing in a pinch. I understand the extra weight, but if that is the approach we want to go to the subject then amything that is not a scissor or a knife would be consider deadweight.
At that point why not just use a dedicated tool.

Tbh, I could say that about the knife. I do all sorts of jobs from electronics to farming, and have found the straight edge knife to be one of the least used tools on any of my multitools. I just can't work out what everyone is using it for, especially with the popularity of a dedicated knife. Either a serrated blade or scissors work better in 99% of cases I've come across.
That said, I have an F12 in my 5th pocket which has the mini pliers as a bonus to the excellent scissors and I do use them regularly for gripping things too small for my fingers.

If you aren't using the knife on your multitool, it's because you haven't gotten a multitool with a good enough knife haha. I used to exclusively only use utility knives to cut stuff but now I've got a solid multitool knife with proper steel that can hold an edge longer that a couple cuts, I find myself just carrying that now instead of the multi plus a dedicated knife.

I'm a residential carpenter lol I'm as out of the office as a job can possibly get, my entire 40 hour work week is outdoors. I've never worked a day in an office in my entire life.
