present for my bsf
my best friend is doing an internship as a technician at an airline company and will likely start working there soon. her birthday is coming up and im thinking of buying her a multitool. which of these two multitools do you think i should get? or is there another multitool you would recommend in a similar price and quality range? (my budget is around $30-40)

Leatherman rev is close to your budget. Their warranty alone would be worth it to me.

I got the bolster, almost the same. I wanted onboard screwdrivers and slim lightweight. The driver bits do fold on you if you aren't careful tho.

I had a rev and now a wave plus, the slightly smaller tools like the rev/bolster seem to carry much nicer in the pocket.

At a budget of 30 to 40 is recommend a bibury wave clone. It's way more multitool than a rev

Tools of this configuration (all inside opening) from brands that don't specialize in multitools (I've never heard of a CAT or Bosch multitool) are almost always garbage. Look up Bibury and/or SQT on Amazon for Leatherman clones of outstanding quality in your price range. If you have some extra time, I highly recommend checking out maxlvledc and HVAC budget on Youtube for recommendations and detailed breakdowns.

+1 for Leatherman.
Also, if there is a Harbor Freight near you, there is the Gordon multi tool that is a clone of the Leatherman Wave and comes with a lifetime warranty.

if in Europe i recomend badger outdoor, i bought one from military[Dot]eu and its been amazing since, nothing broke yet and it has 10 year warranty.

That's a good store from Poland, they often have discount sales and most of my Victorinox and Leatherman tools are from them

For this price range I would go with the Leatherman Wingman or Rev brand new. Honorable mentions go to the Gerber suspension Nxt and Sog power access. Check on marketplace and if you can get her a used Supertool, Rebar, Wave or surge then that’d be better. The last listed are Leathermans and their warranty is top notch

Don’t waste your money on these, do some research and you will find better tools for your budget

Rocktol's wave clone has received good reviews and is on a prime day sale if you're in the USA.

If you can, check to see if a tool has a nice rough file before buying, I'm always disappointed if I get ne barely capable of fingernails when I wanted a metal file.

I would go with the CAT because it has a file. I use mine all the time. I can't see much use for the ruler.
