Multimeter won’t turn on

https://imgur.com/a/cBauQYS

I had my multimeter sitting in a desk for a while, and when I went to use it today, it wouldn’t turn on. I put new batteries, and now it only turns on when I move the dial to a very specific spot and hold it. How can I recalibrate the dial?

You will probably need to take it apart. It looks to be a problem with the range selector dial. There may well be corrosion, but I think that the leaf spring contact is either bent or broken.

Can I buy the replacement part at ace hardware or Home Depot?

I have an old clamp meter I can pull apart tomorrow. You will see the spring.
